Lots of people have a building near the house with heat, ac, a play yard to the nines. Is the garage cold, or the cement? I'm just curious, thinking about my barefeet on it lol Their pen is nicely constructed.

hey that homemade kennel is nice looking

i only crate mine when im not home or sleeping..cant trust them not to have accidents:)

I need to replace flooring in one of my rooms and I am thinking to put tile. I am afraid they can pee between the cracks of laminate? How is that working for you?

Yes on the pee shields, it's just a few pieces of siding...I'm wondering if they wouldn't get cut on it tho? Siding can have sharp edges. But why pay that when U can make U're own? I mean siding here is around $8.00 a piece so that's not bad. U can have U're husband bend it for U and make U're own whelping box too.

We have laminate in one of our rooms and I hate it. It is kind of slippery and yes, they can pee between the cracks of the laminate. We redid our big dog room with thick vinyl flooring and I love it.

I love U're room and I'd love to have one that pretty but there's no way we could have that here we in June had 10 Yorkies total with 7 of them being puppies and now we have 1-3 yr old male, 1-20 month old male, 1-10 mo. old female and 2- 8 month old females. They romp to much for the shelving like U have and they are teething too and the reason we did the tile somewhat up our walls was because no sooner we got the walls painted and started letting our babies out in the room Sage our 10 month old ate 3 holes in the walls!! So I thought tile it and then they can't get hurt on the plaster. We even tiles the ends of the cabinets too! I wanted it to be safe for them not for them to get hurt on anything, so right now they are in the training period of the room. They do good except the other day I went in to sweep and mop left all 5 out here alone running around don't U know those 2 rotten little things Sofie and Weezie had the puppy pad our from under the litter box tore up and all in each of their beards! LOL so I replaced it and got it out of their coats, gave them a scolding and went back in to put a load of laundry in and here they had started at it again! I said no that's it and they went to their crates...There is "TIMES" when U just can't leave 2 babies out alone together until they learn the rights and wrongs and what to get into and what not to.

Tile, Tile, Tile, we've had all the flooring and I tell U this is the very 1st time we've had tile with our Yorkies it's a life saver!!!!! I have no trouble with puppy pads leaking if the boys pee slide down under the puppy pad where they hike their legs upon the litter box no big deal get my cleaner (Not clorox)and wipe it up with paper towels! I use the clorox anywhere spray and it's great too! Then I mop the whole floor once a week with pine sol and a little beach added to it...That's another time I crate!! For Poo and yep pups sometime make mistakes too I just baby wipe it up and put it in a baggie and clorox and paper towel it up!! Not a problem, they get to go in the house too but not unless we're in there to watch them, our girls take them to their bedrooms to play too but not without a puppy pad!! They are learning good. So gals I say TILE all the way!!!!!! Oh I painted the grout on the floor and it never comes up or stains!! Great stuff and the walls I did so don't laugh!! Well I had a little help but not much, I enjoyed doing it but it is a tough job! But well worth it all!

Our babies room is right next to our bedroom the door stays open all night and a gate there all day. I only crate when need be (Like not being able to be here at home or moping the floor in their room and at night, Galahad is MARKING and I won't allow it to be done on the walls or cabinets and I don't put a belly band on him at night I feel he needs to be without it some, he does wear it during the day when he's out in the room), their not in it all day, now mind U they are unlocked and yes teddy can open the door to his crate and they go in and choose to lay down in it, and our 3 babies run in and out playing in it too so they must like it or they wouldn't go in there during the day.

Its a vinyl. One Piece. No cracks so no liquids can get through. I love it. Cleans up real nice!!

I was afraid that tile would be too cool for them. This works great for me!
