YT Addict | Is this normal?? I was surfing around Puppyfind.com and notice the most beautiful yorkie pup all gold. How common is this? The pic with the girl is his brothers. Mom is the last picture. Listing: http://www.puppyfind.com/view_listin...26page%25253D1

Not sure either... But, I do know it is NOT the standard for Yorkies. I want what is winning in the ring.....and it is NOT a gold yorkie. Even as a pet, I strongly believe that the Yorkie should be what the AKC states.....in other words, the breed standard. Go to the AKC website and read the description. Sorry did not mean to get on my soapbox......I dont usually do that..... Shirley

I believe they are called goldens and there are a few on YT. I love the color. I believe it is a recessive gene just like the parti color. They are full yorkies and can have two tradiditonal colored parents. The yorkie purists don't like them because they do not meet the yorkie standard.

I think as far as the designer breeds of yorkies (chocolate, parti, etc), it is one of the less common.

They're not rare, and shouldn't cost as much as a yorkshire terrier bred by the standard IMO.
