I adopted my 2 yorkies almost 5 years ago, but I had never received any paperwork when I got them until last mth - I finally got their AKC registrations from the gal (one of my daughter's dance teachers) who rehomed them to me when they were not even 1 1/2 yrs old.

I had been asking for the paperwork for quite some time, but she had it packed away. Of course I had been wonder if they came from YT breeders. When she gave me the papers in December - which did not include her contracts with the breeders - she told me for the first time that she was supposed to have talked with the breeders before rehoming - I couldn't figure out why she hadn't done this.

I mean I'm thrilled to have these 2 - they lite my world everyday & are spoiled to death. I was going to bring up this question to you breeders last mth - but I got busy as it was near Christmas & then forgot about it.

But with the thread started yesterday by Mom2BabyNatalie getting a pup that someone is trying to rehome from one of PrestigeousYT - Deana's nursery I thought I really wanted to know how you would handle this situation & what you would think if someone rehomed a dog from you without addressing your clause in your contract to be contacted first??

As soon as I got the paperwork for my 2, I started searching for info on both Bubba & Roxy's breeders - wondering if they are YT members - but I was scared if I found them, they would be very upset that the contract wasn't honored.

Their original owner had Roxy's pedigree, but has lost/misplaced Bubba's. But I searched for Bubba's breeder - Anne Wiley listed on the AKC registration - and found her website - Hylan Acres (http://www.yorkiesathylan.com/index.html)

**Side question - do any of you know her?? What do you think of her lines? I thought she had beautiful dogs & might consider a pup from her in the future - what do you think?**

Anne & I have exchanged emails that first night. She has beautiful babies & she said Bubba looks a lot like his sire - who is also pictured on her website. She seemed to remember exactly who I got Bubba from - even they never met in person as Bubba was shipped here from Texas. Anne was extremely nice to me & said she was so glad Bubba had found a good home with me.

I'm still trying to find Roxy's breeder - so I'm again concerned about her being upset about the rehoming; but I guess my concern about this issue is second to finding the actually breeder.

How upset would you be to find out your contract wasn't honored?

** another side question - Still trying to find Roxy's breeder - can you help? This is what I know: The breeder's name is Fonda A. Bennett. The sire is Bostron’s Tiny Peewee and the dam is Bennett’s Frisky Frolic. Roxy’s sire comes from a long line with the Bostron’s kennel name, and I did find that Missouri kennel online. Roxy’s pedigree also includes Hauser’s Terrific Tigre – who when I googled that name, found linked to numerous kennels as a sire – but I have no idea who his owner is/was. Anyone recognize any of these names? I know when Roxy's original owner found the yorkies, she did so thru the Internet.

I have a male Yorkie from Hylan Acres. Anne Wylie is a wonderful person and has been very helpful. She has some beautiful dogs.

Is that your male in your avatar? That's Bubba in mine & here's a better picture. That's the name his first owner gave him - I would have changed it in a heartbeat but of course we still see the dance teacher (well, not as often as my daughter graduated in May)

Supposedly the story the first owner told me (but I didn't ask Anne) is that Anne originally planned on keeping Bubba to show, but then feared he would be too small. But I wonder if he did turn out big enough. He's 4 1/2 pounds - so I don't know if that's a good or bad size.

Anne was wonderful when we emailed - I asked her about YT & she told me she was too busy taking care of babies to be on any of the forums. I realize the forums aren't for everyone - so I'm sure there are a lot of good breeders out there I have never heard of.

For some reason, the name Fonda rings a bell..and not in a good way haha. I hope someone else can come on here with some reviews about her and her breeding practices.

Fonda rang a bell for me too and i looked it up here. www.fondarosa.com is the website that was talked about that i connect the name with. i do not think its the same person tho. i could be wrong.

If I were a breeder I would feel very betrayed and would want to check on the home their dog went to

Hylan Acres has beautiful dogs, and I had her site saved in my favorite until another YT member informed me that Anne Wiley was suspended by the AKC for 6 months for turning in false registration papers for two of her litters. In fact, there was a thread sometime this past month where a new member had bought a puppy from her and was having trouble getting its AKC papers from the breeder. Of course, the member now knows that Anne is suspended from the AKC and its very unlikely they'll be getting any papers for their puppy.

No, this is not the same person. I'm pretty sure. I went to peoplesearch and found that the Fonda Vandiver with the fondarosa kennel lives in Kentucky is about 58 yrs old aka FONDA GAYLE CUNDIFF. Fonda A. (which is Ann - on peoplesearch) Bennett is also known as Fonda Breedlove - with several different Missouri address (that you can't get unless you pay for them) & she's 43 or 44 in the white pages online, I found a phone number for her - guess I should have tried that first.

Ok, I wanted to know about the breeders of my 2 adopted yorkies - so I appreciate the input from all. Maybe I should have done 2 different threads

But I really do wonder about how breeders feel about a dog being rehomed without being consulted - especially if it's in their contracts.

Maybe breeders don't feel comfortable addressing this

The Fonda of Fondarosa's last name is Vandiver so it's not the same person.

Yes, the male on my avatar is Yogi, the male I got from Anne Wylie. He is a wonderful boy and has one point toward his championship. He was just 13 months old in that picture.
