Did someone post they could not make heads or tails out of my web site...?
My site is soooo old and somewhere is cyber space, I have no clue how to take it down.

It is interesting to be discribed as the "larger amt breeder"...I do not breed..but I do co-own several girls with friends and pick a pup from each litter...I do it the easy way now...LOL

Weeelll I didn't mean that in a "blown up" comment, lol...I just meant..well you have a lot more experience and have more to add for the op than some of us lil ole 4 or 5 doggers

I posted what I had in Maryland when the op asked...it is possible to have a large number of dogs and keep them as pets first, show/breeding second. Of course, what is a large number to one is not to another....
I found 25 Yorkies too many for me..10 to 12 was perfect...some breeders have live-in kennel help and feel they can own more....

Not a breeder , Never will be, just want to give you all who do

You really are amazing, I was at my friends who breeds shtiztues and I could not handle that sound for more then 1/2 hr

she has a female in heat and they are seperated, but her male was howling like a wolf, I asked her, how do you handle this

she said oh we are just use to it, I do like to read the breeder forum as i find it very interesting and informative

I had/have a Com-Air Eagle 2500 in each room...it 100% rids a room of any odor, realtors use them alot and with a daily mop and weekly grooming, I never had a odor problem..in fact people used to come to my home and tell me they thought it would smell bad and they were curious to see if it did..
...I lived in it and had no desire to smell dog poop all day. I, also had a electric potourri pot going all day...but NOT in the room with the air filter..it also filters out good smells...
I still use my air filter here in Flroida..they are expensive, but had it 10 yrs and worth every "scent"...LOL

I use my friend's male right now, and he's the daddy to Ryder, my future stud. I'm considering very seriously getting 1 more male, so I can always have something to breed to without doing it too close to the lines. I have a pretty good prospect in a male from a litter just born a few weeks ago to my friend. She had 5 boys, and they're all small, but not anywhere near as small as Ryder's litter...which is good, I wouldn't want another one this small. They're only 3 weeks old today, but they're gorgeous little boys, and they're out of a completely different mother and father, none of which have any lines that are the same as Ryder or any of my females. Either that or I'll find another male that I fall in love with lol. But I think that would be a good number...4 breeding females and a 2 males...plus the one pet. She's actually out of Brooklyn and Ryder's daddy, and they were just bred again, so I can show her off when these pups are born...

I clean like crazy too...I'm ALWAYS doing something for the dogs...but I really don't mind, they're my babies. I don't think I could ever have a kennel, although I know some people do it. I agree with YorkieRose...there is a BIG difference. My friend has a kennel, and although they're all well socialized and happy, my dogs are much closer to me and are always clean and happy...not that hers aren't...but it's just...DIFFERENT! I mean, mine sleep in my bed with me...it isn't logical that it would be the same.

It sounds like most of you suggest only having the male or female in the home. I have a 10 month old female and have begun the process of looking at males. Am I crazy to consider both in my house knowing Ill have to separate them for her first heat?
