I think I can answer the nipple thing for you, since I passed the syringe trick to Kim...I poked 3 holes onto the nipple...heated a sewing needle, just like you do with a baby nipple....but you can do a cross wise cut if/when you begin adding baby rice ceral to the formula...

The only problem I have encounterd with the holes is they suck too hard and it comes out to fast then it is out the nose.We cut (my vet and I) a criss cross in the nipple and it was a little harder for them to suck or they had to work at it I guess.WE had a big litter of six last time with a section and no milk She did eventually get milk in but it took awhile.
One of the males in the litter who really really liked the bottle still sucks his mommas finger she thinks it is the cutest thing: HE would be 8 months now.
Poor Hanna the little momma dosent know what is going on bless her heart.She will adjust though just takes time,sad for us to watch but was the right thing for you to do for the pup.

Just wanting to know something K, when you let Miracle eat off Mercedes does Hannah still exept her as her own ??? Or will she be Mercedes period , wonderd how that works ,cant help feeling bad for little Hannah after what she has been through, even though i know it is best for the little Miracle !

Didn't have the problem...I used a very fine needle and spaced the holes far apart.

Miracle is 6.6 oz today, she is gaining much better with Mercedes than being supplimented...

Candy Hannah knows her baby is with Mercedes, is she happy about it? nope but I really think she understands, she isnt too sad this morning, shes doing the "hannah banana" dance and eating normal...

There is usually a large bubble that forms right at the back shoulders from administering subcutaneous fluids that subsides as the dog absorbs the fluids into his body the skin will appear more supple, BTW a puppy can live off continued ringers for 2-3 days.

Thanks for this important information. I tube fed a baby for two weeks, night and day, every two hours. right on the two hour mark..She survived and is doing well...But I had to take her to the vet for fluids to jump start her for me.. did that twice. thanks so much.

I don't think this one will ever leave Kim's side....she's already stole her heart......This is her lil Miracle baby and mascot.....
