what's dry socket? is it just the eye drying out because its not getting properly lubricated?

Happy to report Little "Miracle" eyes have opened this afternoon...:D at 19 days old, Finally!!

Kimberly, there is always going to be "someone" who will twist whatever you say or do. They are pathetic creatures.

I have watched you first hand with these babies and DO know that you have and will continue to do all that you can for your kids. No matter how little sleep you get nor how long it takes.

For those of you who don't know, Kimberly has no qualms about questioning a vet on his treatment if she feels it is not good or has a 'gut feeling'. Just as we would do if it were our skin kids. I have witnessed this first hand, and fortunately, she was right, and she was insistant with the vet, she had to be. Her kids are dependent on her for their well being and if she doesn't question their treatment, and protect them, then who will.

Poor little Hannah. Such a horrible experience for her when in the past she hasn't missed a beat with her babies. I am glad that she is back to her normal self and that little Miracle is doing better.

It was really hard for me the night they were born, seeing their tiny little frail bodies. Such precious babies. I applaud you for your diligence and most especially your love for your kids.

Congrats to Mercedes and JJ for their robust brood.

So excited that lil Miss Miracle has decided that it is time to see the world.....

They are adorable. But, especially Miracle...it's great to see her doing so well.

Once again Kim's instincts came to the fore front...lil Miracle had a bit of a set back yesterday morning...breathing became labored so, she was rushed to emergency.....vet said lungs were clear, but could possibly be the beginnings of an illness...prescribed a wee bit of antibiotics...today is a new day....eating like a champ and back on track.

Thanks Mary, she is on a tiny bit of amoxy to assure she has no congestion...the vet was very concerned yesterday and said blantenly she may not make it...well here is to another Miracle she is doing great today:):thumbup:

Those pictures are absolutely precious and this little miracle can only be here because of this excellent breeder's care. :cool:

The boys are realy cute K, buuut K little Miracle just stole my Heart :luvu:

Thank you Joan and Candy she is a precious little thing...today is now 5.8 oz @ 3 weeks old tomorrow:)

Congratulations on your little Miracle. She is precious beyond words!! I only read the first post and skipped over to page four and saw the pics...... I didn't read all the posts in between....

But Kimberly, you said something so important that everyone should listen to.... I preach it to everyone I know.....

God gave us instincts to help us survive. We all need to learn to believe and trust those instincts and act upon them. Fortunately for little Hannah you were brave enough to do that. :thumbup: to you and please..... give little Miracle a kiss on that sweet little nose-- just from me :)

I see you used a syringe and then a nipple great idea,looks like the nipple is a bit bigger did she like it better or just softer and easier for her to suck on?

She wouldnt take a bottle so I came up with this; the nipple is a preemie nipple on a 1 cc syringe, it works great!

you need the extended tip syringe for it to hold tight on the end without leaking...if you like Ill take pics of each and post it...

I would love to see it ,actually it looks easier for some reason?

these are pics of the makeshift bottle, nice thing is you have total control and know how much she/he is taking in at all times...

Like I said she wouldnt tke the bottle and she would strangle the raw end of the syringe, this is a kinder, gentler way...

Thanks KIm and that was a 1cc syringe correct? Didnt the nipple have to big of a hole? Or did you cut a crisscross in it?
She looks adorable in those pics getting around good.

yes a 1 cc syringe, I was using a 3 cc but she would take it down too fast...I was so afraid she would asperate so I changed back to a 1 cc. The nipple is in a crisscross cut (she likes it best) I have two, I started out with the pin hole then when she got stronger I used the crisscross.

She is almost walking she is doing the wobble walk...Yesterday I decided it was best to put her on with Mercedes and the boys...she gained 1 ounce in 24 hours...so I am leaving her there...she thinks she hit the mother load:)

Poor Hannah is very confused where her baby is, but at this juncture coupled with the scare I had on saturday I had to do it...the boys cuddled her right in and Mercedes is still wondering when the hell did she give birth to a 5th one:)
