| I agree with everyone else. Especially if you offerend to show them to her, what more could she want? By just showing them to her, that should be enough. |

| Thanks, I needed to feel that I wasnt the only one thinking something is not right. She sounded nice, even met our dog already but since she had met her on the very same day she contacted me to express interest we did not let her take her home and I told her we needed more time to make sure we selected the right home. I just didnt feel comfortable handing our dog to someone I hadnt had much of an opportunity to get to know. This is a first for me to encounter someone like this about papers, turned me off from the beginning but I gave her a chance, it was not an issue for the past week we have talked, I was going to let her adopt, until it was brought up again today. I felt like I must have stupid on my head, I know AKC has nothing to do with a dogs health, Vets checking out the health of lineage, wow wldnt that be a blessing for us breeders, a miracle Vet. None of her reasons made any sense to me and even after telling her what I know it hasnt stopped her from replying to me.

| dray, I called like 6 Vets and none would want to spay her right now and not until her condition is more under control. She also cannot be vaccinated and most Vets require they are before performing a spay. Her skin condition is Demodex, they do not want to cause her immune system to lower. I havent been able to commit to the daily/weekly x-care she requires, which is why I decided to start looking for a pet home that could continue.

| She replied to me and this is what she had to say...... You are missing the whole point. Anyone can adopt her without the papers that is not going to stop them from breeding her, especially someone who runs a puyppymill. Anyone can tell you they will agree with you and sign the papers but there is nothing stopping them from not getting her spayed and breeding her. They won't care that she doesn't have papers. The only problem they will have is not being able to sell the puppies for $800 - $1000, they will just sell them for $500 or so. They are not going to be worried about her condition which I feel is the bottom line. Like I told your husband I have been looking for a Yorkie puppy for a while now and have no problem paying $1,000 for one with papers. We answered your ad because she was an older puppy, with health conditions, you weren't that far from us and we have no interest in doing any breeding. Since I am home all the time I thought that it would be great to be able to help a puppy who needs consistant care instead of getting one that won't need me much after a few months. It was on the suggestion of my doctor that I get a dog. You can screen people till you are blue in the face but you are never going to be 100% sure of what their intentions are. All I can say is that the only interest we have in her is to correct her condition to the best of our abilities and have her for a family pet, besides I don't think that I'm healthy enough to deal with all the mess of breeding and puppies. The ultimate decission is up to you to do what you feel is best but please let me know so that I can start looking around again if you do decide to not let us adopt her

| Our first Yorkie had Demodex...it can be treated but it does take time, money and a real devotion to their care. Once Boog got over the initial case and treatments he never had any trouble with it again and when he was better we had him neutered. I wish you luck finding a home for your little girl...it's out there and you'll know when you find it. Last edited by my2boyz; 11-30-2007 at 08:16 PM. |

| Even though I have no interest in breeding, I like having my pets' registration papers. My youngest cat came from a wonderful show breeder and was spayed early before I brought her home. Her breeder had sent the litter registration in late and didn't have the papers to give me when I took her home and said she would mail them to me as soon as she got them. Well, she was really busy and kept forgetting to send them (I was almost afraid I was never going to get them)..I e-mailed her several times to remind her and finally got them. My cat was already spayed and obviously I didn't plan to breed her, but it's still important to me to have her papers. I just like having them and getting a copy of the pedigrees. I know it's just a piece of paper but I like having them. I don't know this person interested in adopting your girl so I'm not siding with them at all...they may in fact have bad intentions..I don't know. But I just wanted to show that some people do like to have the papers even if they just have their dog for a pet. I would only place the dog with them if you felt 99.9999% certain they'll be a good home for her and have her spayed. If you place her with them, I wouldn't give them the papers until after she is spayed.

She is being treated with Ivermectin oral liquid daily, weekly baths with antiseptic shampoo(malaseb or chlorhexidine). She was on clavamox antibiotics for a month but finished. She doesnt have the hair loss like you see in some pictures but has lots of dandruff/crust.

| I am glad she is getting the meds and bathing that she needs to get better or at least control it. Some dogs will be fighting this forever. It can be a lot of work , I hope this woman is well enough to take care of her. She sounds like she really wants her, maybe she would settle for a copy of the papers until the spay is done. |

Well said! I have 2 babies... one female (1.5 yrs old) and one male (7.5 months old) both AKC and both spayed/neutered but I still wanted their papers. I guess you just have to go with your gut instinct about this lady. Good Luck!

| Our Pug was found to have that condition on her head when she was about seven months old. We treated her with the baths and meds and etc that were very expensive. It never did spread but upon learning of this, our vet spayed her when she finished her course of medication Last edited by Sugar's Mom; 12-01-2007 at 04:56 AM. |

| Please just remember, anyone can write anything and make it sound good. If your gut is tellling you that something is wrong then go with your gut. I have learned over the years to learn to trust my inner voice. It would be one thing if it was a vase but this is a living creature and if you are wrong and this is a bad situation then a lot of harm could come to your dog. If you are not interested in turning your dog over to a reputable rescue organization who is trained in finding a good home then I suggest you call the Humane Society, animal control and also rescue in your area to see if they know anything about this person. Did this person give you a vet reference? Then call this vet to see what they know about this person. My gut is telling me something is wrong with all of this. I would rather error on the safe side for my dog.
