I think I may have to fly out to pick up a pup but i would like to avoid that. I will use the next few months to try and find a good breeder in the NY/NJ/PA area.

You'd be surprised to find that most show breeders do not charge more than others. We breed for our next showdog. Of course most of the pups will go as pets and we just want the best homes for them. You can get a beautiful companion that has been bred to the AKC standard, temperment tested, health certified, and well socialized for less than alot of the BYB's charge. Ask the show/breeder about the price, You may be surprised!

Did you check out Yorkshire Terrier Club of America

There are several breeders listed in the NY,NJ,CT,PA area.

You certainly should be able to find one and not have to have a puppy shipped from across the country.
