Bad Habit

Hello everyone,
I have a 6 month old yorkie named Marley. He is very adorable but he has a bad habit... he tends to eat his poop. Since I work three days out of the week... I'm not always there to pick up his poop after he goes. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can break this bad habit? Thanks, in advance!

![]() | There are enzymatic additives for the food you can purchase, as well as conditioning the animal not to do it when you do catch him. Firmly tell him, "no," and then give him a treat when he stops. Remove the poo immediately. You just have to catch him as often as possible, and remember that dog's have limited short-term so reprimanding him after the fact does no good, as in the case of rubbing their nose in their urine. |

![]() | Hello, I have a 3month old YorkiPoo named "Rusty". A great little dog, we adore him , but he also has a nasty habit of eating his poo. I searched the internet looking for ways to treat this. I bought some stuff at WalMart-- and I really didn't see much results with it. So I mentioned it to his Vet and she gave me some powder called Forbid you sprinkle it in their food. I have to admit I think it may work . I noticed he didn't eat it this morning. Hope this helps. Bye now, Elbertsdog and "Rusty" |

![]() | Yeah, well just when I am filled with great advice and exercising my right to free speech, my 9 month old, also starts that lovely poo-eating behavior. Well, it's even worse than your case. He doesn't eat his own, just everyone else's. So, I will have to start sprinkling all the piles in the area... ![]() ![]() |
