Another Attempt at Grooming

I just made Lola another grooming appointment. I'm very nervous. Our last visit to the groomer didn't go so well. She was crying and whining and biting the groomer the whole time. Over two hours and all she got was a shampoo, blow dry, and brush out... all things that I already do for her at home.
I have to admit, she can be a bit dramatic, but she was over-the-top! After an hour the groomer wanted to muzzle her. She asked for my consent, which I did not give. Fortunately I stayed the whole time so I know nothing bad happened to my baby, but I'll never go to that groomer again. Part of me is too embarrassed to return and a part of me wonders what they would have done had I not stayed.
Now I'm really nervous about trying this again. I bought some anxiety medication from a local pet supply store. Hopefully it helps. She really needs a nail trim and a trim of the hair around her face. My mother keeps complaining that she looks like a homeless dog. Ugh!

 | From day one a puppy should have its toes, teeth and buttocks handled as much as possible so he or she is comfortable with it. Associate teeth cleaning and bathing with a treat. Its very simple. Your dog just needs to know who is in charge and for you to make her feel secure. |
