Thor Squeaked a Toy!
I'm thrilled to post that Thor actually managed to bite one of his toys hard enough to make it squeak!
I am not sure if Thor has really strong bite inhibition or really weak jaws. I've suspected the latter, since he doesn't like to eat anything that needs serious chewing. Even very small treats like Yorkie Yummies are too much for him.
Other owners complain that their dogs can destroy toys after a few hours. All of Thor's toys are immaculate, except maybe for some dog slobber.
A few weeks ago, I got Thor a couple mini Kong toys, and lo and behold, he made them speak! It was just a couple times, and usually when I was tugging at them too, so I thought maybe it was a fluke. But no, tonight Thor squeaked his toy heart over and over and over again. Its high-pitched, atonal shriek was music to my ears.
I feel like better jaw strength indicates something good. I'm not sure what, but it just seems like it should be healthy. I've always let Thor play-bite my fingers, because even when he's at his most worked up, he can only deliver a mild pinch. I'm thinking I might need to put a sock on my hand from now on!
On a less joyful note, Thor vomited tonight. I am not sure what to make of it. I've been pretty careful with his diet over the past few weeks, and he should only be getting Halo kibble, and three kinds of dried meat treats. I have been putting a tsp of oil on the kibble in an effort to get him to eat more, and I'm wondering if it went slightly rancid.
Thor of course immediately wanted to feast on his vomit, then ate some more kibble, and then raced around my apartment at the speed of sound. So I am not too worried, at least not yet.
Squeak! Squeak! Squeak! I wonder if that will ever get annoying.
