Thor the wonder dog
Thor continues his quest to be the perfect dog. He has four resolutions down cold, and making strong progress on three more.
Among other commands, Thor knows Stay, Shake, and High Five. He's also been to Doggy Daycare a number of times.
We're still working on his doggy ettiquette. I've actually seen him go into a play bow with a few dogs now, which is possibly the cutest thing ever.
He's going strong on his potty training. We've had three accidents in the past month, and he's currently on his tenth accident-free day. We're going for thirty!
We're also getting better on brushing his teeth. I've put away his tooth brush for now, and I'm using my finger tip. His breath is much, much better. I plan to use my finger every night for the next month or so, until he gets completely comfortable with it, and then switching back to the brush. He still doesn't like getting his front teeth cleaned, but hey, he's got hundreds of days to acclimatize.
I've been thinking recently about all the little things he does that I love, and I thought I'd post them here:
1. When he curls into a ball to sleep, he looks like a little grey cotton ball. I swear, if I blew on him, he'd fly away.
2. I love how his hair is a mess when he wakes up. Then he gives himself a good shake and it all falls perfectly into place. I wish I could do that!
3. I love how he gets uncontainably excited whenever I take him somewhere in the car, even if it's just a gas station.
4. I love when I call him to me in the park, and he comes running back to me as fast as his little legs will carry him.
5. I love watching him chase birds, and how he barks at them when they evade him by taking flight.
6. I love watching him roll in something stinky. I know it means a bath later, but it's almost unbearably cute.
7. I love playing Keep Away with him. I might be much bigger and much smarter, but I am no match for him when he has a tennis ball in his mouth.
8. I love it when he snores his little snores. Sometimes they aren't so little. He's woken me up a few times!
9. I love how he circles and sniffs on his potty pad trying to find the absolute PERFECT spot to pee on, despite the fact that he's only working with 4 square feet.
10. And finally, I love rubbing my face in his thick, soft, beautiful fur.
Let's hear it for the mighty Thor!
