My yorkie Laci, when she drinks to fast or gets really excited starts to breath really hard. Does anyone else have this problem with there yorkie? I would love to hear from you what you do and if it can be stoped. I just hold her and talk with her and it seems to pass.

| | My yorkie does the same thing, especially when shes really excited. I just recently saw a thing on t.v all about yorkies and it says that they do this thing called a "reverse sneeze" it kind of sounds like a goose honk. If this is what your talking about, I wouldnt be too worried. As long as it passes and she dosent sound like she has a diffacult time breathing any other time. Try googling it. Thats what I did, if your still consirned ask your vet. Hope this helps! ![]() |

| | breathing/xrayHave an X-ray done tell your vet to check for Tracheal collapse (windpipe) signs to look for..rapidly inhaling for air. After burst of excitement or play .. honking cough. Wheezing. Sometimes the body gets ridged when this happens after the dog takes a few more breaths you will notice his breathing should return to normal. Some are misdiagnosed Tracheal collapse is condition found primarily in most small dogs. There environment can play a large roll..smoke,obesity,allergies, poor diets and genetic to name a few. Hope this helps, The Organic Lady......Alicia |
