My first dog

I just purchased an 11-week parti-colored Yorkie puppy. This is my first dog as I have spent the past eighteen years raising Persian cats, the last of which who was fourteen had to be euthanized. I had been reasearching dog breeds for years and finally decided to take the plunge and purchase this Yorkie. My husband says it's empty nest syndrome. I think it's merely that he has finally driven me so crazy that I have gone over the edge.
I don't get Lord Byron until perhaps next week, what with the vet certificate and airline schedule, as it's pretty horrible in PA and this little guy is from Florida. Talk about culture shock.
I demand an answer to the following crucial questions:
How did a criminal defense attorney to whom Judges would say, "Ms. Grove, your skirt is too short. Your testicals are showing" to carrying around a dog (or will be) in my tote bag. Sigh.
I have a magnet that states the following: I DON'T NEED A THERAPIST. I HAVE A YORKIE.
I think that is perhaps inaccurate or just downright incorrect.
