I am so ANGRY

So i took hank (my four month old yorkie-poo) to the groomer. I wanted her to give him a sanitary cut and to trim his hair. I even showed her the amount i wanted her to take off. And i made sure she didnt have to use the clippers. Well and hour later when i come to pick him up...she SHAVED him! SHAVED him. I cried so hard. I loved his little puff ball hairdoo. But not anymore. He's halfway bald. I could still cry. I need some supportive words.
Oh and i had talked my self into a better mood by tellin myself it wont take long to grow back. Well that comfort was trampled on by my husband who looked at him and said, "His old hair was so much cuter. It will take forever to grow back."
uggggg!!!!!

I am sorry to hear about your experience. Have you considered home grooming? I am not an expert but I purchased a WAHL Pet Kit that included the clippers, 4 different combs (leaves different lengths of fur), and a DVD with the tips/techniques. It was the first time I hade ever done a session with my puppy who is 11 months old. My husband assisted, so I guess we both have to take credit for how good or bad it may look. I happen to think he is the cutest but I am biased. It does take a bit of time and patience but my puppy didn't seem to mind so much. I would recommend the WAHL Kit. It wasn't expensive either. I purchased my kit for $19.99. You may feel better knowing you'll be controlling how much fur gets snipped. However, if this is not a solution for you, the next time you take your pet out for a walk if there are neighbors with dog ask them for recommendations.

I have a yorkipoo boy too. Don't worry - it WILL grow back fast! I totally agree that they are cute as little puff balls, but I actually choose to get mine shaved (we live in Texas - it gets hot) and let's face it we love them shaved or not! I am sure Hank is your little cutie despite the haircut. And it WILL grow back fast. I got my boy shaved in May and by June he was fluffy again. He is now too fluffy (he hates getting brushed and is getting matted) so will get shaved soon once again to re-start the cycle. Their hair grows WAY faster than any other hair I've heard of! You will have your puff-ball back in no time.

We just had a similar experience with our yorkie puppy. The groomer took off WAAAAAY too much hair! He doesn't even look like the same little Gizmo we love. I'm relieved to hear that his hair will grow back quickly.

Grooming your YourkieHi, I also decided to groom my yorkie Xanadu. If you search the web on how to groom a yorkie, you will receive several instruction sites. There is one that has pictures: http://www.ytca.org/grooming_clips1.html I think I did a great Job. Everyone that sees him has asked me who is my groomer. I'm proud to say that it was me. Of course the hair on his legs were a challenge but i did the best I could.I also bought the Wahl clippers for pets with attachments. I used the #3 attachment. Becuase he is larger then most yorkies, his hair is not as fine as the tea cup or smaller toy. So I suggest you experiment with the attachments and be assured that the hair will grow back if you make a mistake. Its a trial and error situation. But always remember he or she will always look good in your eyes.

everyone's idea's are good but i think maybe if u come across a dog that is the same as ur dog and a certain hair cut u like just print out the picture or take it out of a magazine and if its a look u like u can stick with it and always ask them to do the same each time u go back
