Ears won't stand. Help?

We bought a 3 month old puppy and his ears don't stand. What can we do?

	I heard that if you cut the hair around the ears. I read the hair weighs the ears down making them floppy. Dont know if thats right tho???

	Cutting the hair down helps since the hair weighs them down. My Yorkies ears didn't fully stand up until she was about 4 months old.
