Trezzi's First Day Home

Wow, what a wonderful, stressful, and overwhelming day yesterday was!
We arrived to Debbie's a bit later than we planned. She waited for us on her porch with little Trezzi in her arms. He was dressed in a little shirt and looked even cuter than we remembered him!!!! He is truly a little heart-breaker.
Debbie had all of our documents ready. She sent us home with an enormous care package, instructions, medications, and even a special blanky for little Trezzi.
We left Debbie's house in Los Banos and started on our long drive back to Oakland. The first hour went by relatively well. Trezzi was doing OK, and he even dosed off for a short amount of time. Lulu seemed somewhat hurt by the little "intruder," but she was behaving herself and mainly slept on the back seat.
However, after about 1 hour Trezzi started getting agitated. He had his little tongue out, panting in anxiety. I don't know if he just started freaking out because of the long drive, new and unfamiliar humans, the bumpy road, or all of the above... In any case, Trezzi blessed mommy by vomiting his lunch all over his new blanket and my trousers.
I gave his some water, which didn't do much to calm down his agitation. Trezzi wouldn't sit still. He was anxious and tried climbing up over my shoulder. And then the big poop came... Luckily, I got him on a pad right in time for a diarrhea attack. Needless to say, Trezzi's growing discomfort made all of us quite agitated and very nervous. And then we hit traffic!
It took us almost 3 hours to get home. My clothes were covered with a variety of unpleasant substances and smells, but I didn't mind. All I cared about was to know that my babies are safely home.
Lulu went straight to her pad, and proudly showed Trezzi were was the potty spot in the house. She was holding her business all the way to and from Los Banos, and was very relieved after she finally got to go.
Trezzi started adjusting VERY quickly. He went on small expeditions around the kitchen, and even sneaking into the dining room. I prepared him his food as per Debbie's instructions, and gave him water w/ honey. He ate pretty well, while we were focused on keeping Lulu away from Trezzi's food.
And then the "War of the Roses" has started. Lulu realized that Trezzi isn't going anywhere. She took away each and every one of her toys, hiding them in her crate. Whatever Trezzi even sniffed at has immediately disappeared into Lulu's crate.
Then she started going after Trezzi, biting at his paws and ears. She wasn't so rough, but mainly annoying. Trezzi played it stoic for a while, but then he made a decision to stand his ground. He went after Lulu as she was trying to get him, showed her some teeth, and bit her at the hair around her muzzle. We tried to separate them by giving them time-out at their crates. All in all, it wasn't too bad.
The excitement of the evening subsided with Trezzi and Lulu falling asleep on our laps while we watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in the living room. Before going to sleep we made sure they both went potty; unfortunately, Trezzi had runny stool again. We ended up giving him some medication Debbie gave us, and a little butt shower to clean him up. He didn't enjoy this part, to say the least.
Trezzi slept peacefully in his crate in our bedroom till 5:30 am. Lulu finally calmed down and sept in her spot on our bed. And we were grateful for a few hours of sleep.
