Shreveport, LA Dog Show

So, we just got back from Shreveport last night and let me tell you that is a FUN city. We had a blast, crusining around the town and of course at the dog show. 
It was a beautiful weekend for a dog show, the sun was shining and it was the perfect temperature. If only all show weekends were so perfect!!
Well, Saturday went great...I didn't have my female Silky entered but had a wonderful time watching the other Silkies and of course the Yorkie Ring as well. Unforunately, some of the yorkies pulled and didn't show up, but those that did were great. Linda's "Star" won Winners Bitch and "Molly" went Reserves, both great wins for these little puppies.
I had the opportunity to take my breeder's Silky female into group on Saturday since he was too tired to make it through...she is still a a puppy and was much fun to show. She just wagged her tail the whole time and just enjoyed being in the ring, which makes it so much fun!!
Sunday was just as fun if not better...I finally got the chance to show my new female special that I have and although she has only been with me 10 days and tends to be a little timid in the ring, she did GREAT!! She was a little crazy in the ring, but if it was always easy it wouldn't be as much fun. "Heaven" went on to win Best of Breed over a beautiful class dog
, which meant I had the opportunity to take her into group.
"Heaven" did even better in group...the judge was really great with her on the table and really worked with her craziness!! She showed off when she needed to and was crazy when she could be...LOL It was a great experience for us together and hopefully we will get more chances to bond in the future!!
The next two weekends are off...I need a break to catch up with family and much needed sleep. The next show will be in Denton, TX which should be fun, as it is close to my house!!

| |  This might be a silly question, but what do you mean by Silky? The way that you mentioned it made it sound like a different breed than a Yorkie, is that right and if so what is a Silky? Congrats on the great weekend! |
