Denton, Tx Show and Silky Specialty

Well things have a been pretty crazy around here lately, so I will have to give an update on two shows today.
Denton went great, I couldn't have asked for more, except maybe a little cooler weather. My Silky female special showed great, she has made a lot of improvement over the last two weeks. I was very proud of her and how far she has come!! She got Best of Breed both days and went on to show well in groups. She is finally coming out of her shell and hopefully will continue to do so in the next couple of shows.
I also got the opportunity to show Ms. Molly, in the 9-12 month yorkie class. Molly is such a cutie and won her class both days...she is finally starting to come into her own and I look forward to showing her in the future!!
This past week I got to go to the National Silky Specialty located in Sacramento, CA. There were over 150 Silkies at this show and it was a great opportunity to meet new Silky owners and breeders. I got the opporuntity to show in Best of Breed for the first time with Heaven and although she was not perfect she showed some improvement and tried hard. She still has fear of male judges and shows that on the table but I couldn't be more proud of her and where she has come. Edd Bivin wanted so much to like her but she just didn't show when it was needed. There is always next year...
The main point of a Specialty is to celebrate the breed and we defintely did that. I had a blast and will have memories to last a life time...
So now on for more coat care and training before the next show in two weeks...Live Oak Toy Dog Show will be at the end of May.
I am also looking forward to the opporutnity of showing a new little male yorkie that will be arriving at this new home hopefully this week. Striker is from a breeder in Hungary and his owner lives down near San Antonio...his first show will be in the middle of June in Texarkana and I can't wait to start working with this adorable little boy.
Stay tuned for more as the summer gets hotter, so do the dogs shows!! LOL

![]() | She is so pretty! I'm glad she's doing so well! I know she'll keep getting better! Do you know the details on the show in Texarkana? I'll have to tell my mom...now that she's been to a show, I suspect she'll want to go! And I will be home sometime in June, so if it's the same weekend, I will definitely go myself! |
