My yorkie Princess is about four months old, and she is so crazy and hyperactive lol...she jumps off the couch in a split second and its really hard to stop her and she also jumps up just fine as well so is this going to hurt her legs i know it is supposed to be bad for them to do...

![]() | Some Yorkies have floating patellas and jumping, especially landing, is hard on their knee joints. Overall, you should discourage this. I suggest an inexpensive carpet covered step. You can get this at a local pet store. They come in three and four steps, depending on how tall the object is that they are jumping on and off of, and you can move it from the couch to the bed, etc. You should reinforce each stage with a treat....coming close to the step, accomplishing the first step, etc. The young ones are easier to break of the jumping....my older Yorkie waits for me put her on the bed and whines when she wants to come down....not sure what's worse... ![]() ![]() |
