So my little baby is only about two pounds and four months and in alberta where i live it is super cold and she cant go outside to potty yet cuz its winter like minus thirty...I first tried a box with litter and she just sniffed it up her nose and then ate it too...so now i have a box with sand which she pretty much just leaves alone. every time i catch her tryin to go somewhere else which is about every time, i take her to her box, and she refuses to do anything...and i know you can try confining them, but she is crazy and climbs baby gates, eats styrofoam or anything else i use to confine her in...it is almost spring so I am hoping outside will do the trick but if you have any ideas that would help lots thanks

![]() | Both of my pups are pad trained and use the pads when weather doesn't permit otherwise. If you soak up the urine from the carpet with a pad, introduce the dog to the pad and praise and reward her when she does use the pad, this behavior will be reinforced in no time at all. Be sure to take up the pad once she has used it only a few times. Yorkies are very fussy about pad cleanliness. Once the dog is conditioned to use the pad, you can then move the pad to the box and gradually remove the pad. I am convinced that it takes 4 solid years to train small dogs... ![]() ![]() |
