![]() | Helloo Yorkies are very hard ot train butt, it is also good to start them young so that eventually they will get use to it. What you can do with your yorkie is too rub their nose in the mess that they have made not hard to hurt them butt to show them thatt they have done wrongg also you may try and buy these big pads that go on the floor of your homee and they pee orr anythingg on that, and eventually you can move it closer to the doorr everytimee and than they will go outside. ![]() |

![]() | Chicken, crate and scented wee wee padsMy father always said that crate training is the best. A dog won't pee or poop where they lay (in their den). They also have scented wee wee pads that make them want to go on them. Also, tiny pieces of chicken right after they go outside works good too. |

![]() | Rubbing pups nose in mess....My father also used to rub their nose in accidents but according to the dog trainer on Animal Planet....NO NO! I've been making loud noises and grabbing my pups when it looks like they're gonna go on the floor...maybe if you can't watch them crate them. Also, my vet suggested many years ago with my cats (I guess it's the same logic with dogs) when my animals did something wrong to squirt water at them, I guess it doesn't ruin the trust between animal and owner yet it's unpleasant enough that they'll stop doing what it is that is bothering you ![]() |

![]() | It does take a lot of patience, but don't give up. If you're not crate training, that's the first thing to do. They get the idea that they go right outside to do business then are allowed to run around for awhile (not too long). Then...back in the crate. If you have them out of the crate for longer periods, make sure you're right with them. It may be a year before they are truly trained. I think the "catching them in the act" and yelling, "NO!" is a good progress marker too. They seem to get it. Remember they have very small bladders & need to go out frequently. Good luck! |
