| Educate... Dont Hate... Quote:
Just the other day I was watching Discovery Channel, or it might have been Animal Planet and they had a special about humans and pets. And there was a small mention that Asians (mainly Chinese) eat dogs and cats, and they showed pictures etc... So, its not as though we Americans are just thinking crazy, its what is being shown to us through media. Nothing to get offended over, but rather educate us - as some of you have. I mean, I cant tell you how many people have thought of me as a BBQ EXPERT just cause Im black! Gotta take it with a grain of salt and educate - dont hate....

| Polinesians???? I think that is the name of the "people" who eat/ate dogs... mainly lived from fishing sailing and the men ate the dog meat... if you to hystory channel.com you will find a special that aired a few years back, i am not too sure but i think still today in some cultures dogs are on the "menu" but i think yorkies would not "yield" much meat and more bones.... But for the interested on the BIZARRe ... you will find some information in there,,,,

| I was born in Hong Kong but left there a long time ago but still have lots of family there. I have a 2.5 year old boy named Saki. As for the whole eating dogs topic....I think it's absolutely horrible....the thought of it makes me sick! |

Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | I totally agree...that was very rude! Asian Americans like myself are also offended by such question...and sick and tired of hearing people's comments about Asian people eating dogs and cats...so please if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all!

| Every culture has a way of life whether someone agrees with it or not. I would not care to try any "delicacy" of cat or dog but I do like beef, sushi and chicken. I don't care for lamb but there are cultures that this is a main staple in their diet. To stereotype and to believe all of them is beyond me. There is way too much easy access to factual information to believe in hearsay.
