| ![]() Hello and I am new to this site and looking for any info that may help my dogs. I have 3 Yorkies with shunt disease (one without) and their ages are 2yrs, 1yr, and 8 mos. (My healthy dog is 7). They are living with the disease and of course are on speacial diets, feeding schedules, and meds. They have never been finicky about their food and in fact love to take their lactalose right out of the syringe like it's candy (ssshhhh dont tell them it's not please ![]() ![]()

| ![]() I'm sorry but I've never heard of Shunt disease. Are your dogs related or is it something that they can get because of the environment or passed from dog to dog. I know how busy and worried you are....but if anyone has some information about this I would be truly interested. I hope your babies are doing better. Prayers are with you all. |

| ![]() Turkey is not a good choice for one with a liver shunt because it has 8 percent more protein and less fat than beef or chicken. Ground beef is probably the best. Here is a link to a homemade liver shunt diet: http://www.vet.utk.edu/clinical/sacs...Liver_diet.pdf |
