![]() Hi!! Bubbles is my first Yorkie, so I am still learning more and more about her and her breed every day, I love it! I was wondering though, when will her ears stick up? Her momma and daddy both had upright ears, but hers are still floppy! I dont know if it takes a while, but I have seen other yorkies her age (2 months) whos ears are already completely upright. I know with my chi's, their ears didnt go completely up until they were done teething. Will this be the case with my yorkie too? What should I do if they don't go up? any comments or suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Their ears can go up and down - sometimes one will be up and one down - before they are permanently up. At 2 mths. I wouldn't worry too much, but I would do as was suggested and keep the top 1/3 of her ears shaved close to lessen the weight on her ears. Teething definitely can affect their ears - they have been known to go down while the dog is teething and go back up when they are done.

After you've been here a while, you'll take everyone's experiences into consideration and when you give advice, you'll remember how everyone's yorkies are different and won't be the same as yours.

| ![]() as far as I know, a puppy has only really just begun the teething phase around 4 mths and their ears may drop and not go back up until they are 7 or 8 mths or they may not go back up at all. It's different for all puppies though... Oscar's ears were up when I got him at 4 mths and I never saw them go down.

![]() I thought that teething may affect it, I just wasn't 100% sure because I didn't know that it happend with Yorks too! Bubbles is SO young, only 2 months, so I am sure they will go up soon then. One of my chi's, Cinderelly, her ears didnt go completely up until she was about 4 months or so. There was always one up, one down! Thanks everyone!!!!

![]() My puppy's ears were floppy for a long time. I tried to shave & tape at 3 months. They would stand up for a couple days before they fell. I gave up and waited until the 6th month, then I tried shaving & taping again, shaving & taping, shaving & taping. Poor thing. Luckily they stood up after 2 weeks of that lol. They've been up for the past 2 weeks. Sometimes one ear will flop after he wakes up, but will stand again after a few minutes. I don't know for sure how much he weighs, but I would estimate around 6-7lbs.

![]() Mine is 6 months old and her ears will not stay up. I've tried everything - taping, taping, taping, keeping them shaved, etc.... nothing helped. I've been told that after 6 months they probably won't stand. ![]() omega
