Bitter, hateful old woman!

Please bear with me as I just needed a place to vent. I have a co-worker that has become such a thorn in my side. She started working here and everyone knew she was trouble right from the start. She would try to turn people against each other and speak ruthlessly against a couple of people, myself included. Don’t get me wrong. She and I have shared words before.

After months of bad feelings, I made the conscience effort to try and resolve things. I apologized…more or less just trying to keep peace. She laughed at my apology and said that I disgusted her. Fine. She didn’t have to accept. I have, in the mean time, tried to move on.

It is difficult, though. Although I do not see her everyday, I am aware of the horrible things she is continuing to say about me and other co-workers. If my shoes aren’t the perfect shade, or my hair is too fluffy, or I make a comment about something that she doesn’t agree with, she starts talking. It’s to the point of being ridiculous. She looks for things to point out. I guess she has nothing better to do with her time.

Others have started taking a notice of her, as well. While only a couple of people actually speak to her, when they are seen conversating, I of course, hear about it. I hear about how she takes things I’ve said out of context, how she is just finding any little thing about me so she can talk. Thing is, those that talk to her are going to get a bad reputation as well. It’s already started.

To be honest, I do not think she realizes how STUPID she looks! I tried to be nice since she is an elderly lady but some of the things she says are quite shocking. You’d expect someone her age to be sweet and caring but she is the absolute opposite. She is bitter, mean and so hateful. TALK, TALK, TALK! That’s ALL she does.

Who knows! Maybe she’s just jealous…I really don’t know anymore.

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. I just needed to blow off some steam!

Wow, that has to be horrible to have someone like that around, But it is obvious how MISERABLE she must be, maybe if she speaks to you, advise her how sorry you feel for her,and how miserable her existance must be, for her to get so CONSUMED with her coworkers, maybe she'll get the point, if not KILL HER.... with kindness Mean people hate that more than anything,and eventually she'll leave you alone. Croutchety old people suck!

I hate her already I've never read where you work, but do you have a HR department or somewhere to file a complaint? Or go to your boss and complain. If you are "hearing" what she's saying....the bosses are too. It is pretty hard to have a productive work place with a "trouble maker" present.

PS That woman is the reason I no longer work with ANY women....well not her...but the actions. I could not stand the cattiness of women in the workplace any longer and left that job. Give me men co workers or employees any day. I'll go out to lunch by my dang self

Girl - I've met you - she's jealous.

Maybe she is one of those women that just feels hateful the older she gets ?

She does sound miserable and I would just steer WAY CLEAR of her. Ignore her as well as you can - there are people in the world that never have anything nice to say about anyone .....people like that want the REACTION they get...it's like any attention is good attention to them....maybe talking like that makes her think she's getting attention.

ps. If you've done nothing to her - then let HER be the one to apologise - you tried

I'm sure she's jealous of you. No other reason. Why else would she pay that much attention to every detail of your being?

People who behave like that, have very low self esteem and do not like themselves, so in order to make themselves feel better, they pick out a person that they admire and belittle them.

She is actually to be pittied. She is just a jealous, miserable person, and misery loves company.

Don't lower yourself to her level. If you really want to bug her, say a cheery good morning to her every day and compliment her on something. It will drive her crazy, because she wants to hate you, but it is hard to haste someon who is being nice to you.

And if she says something mean or nasty to you or in yhour earshot, tell her you are sorry she is having a bad day.

Oooooohhhhhhhhh I'd love to be a fly lon the wall to watch.

I'm doing the ignoring thing and have been for a while now. Ignore her and she'll get bored and go away...NOT! She does have her little group of friends that are a lot like her but not quite the same. I know that they feed each other just to keep things going. Pitiful bunch if you ask me!

Sound to me like someones missing out on life. How sad it must be to be that way. I'd stay out of her way, what she has to say, you don't need to hear.
When she's left all alone, she might get the hint. Put a paper on her desk saying, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
You tried to be nice, I don't think I would waste anymore time on her.
