| ![]() Who all feeds canned food, or something other than dry food, for at least one meal a day? If you do, what do you give them? |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | ![]() Cali gets a tiny bit of Cesar with her chicken or hamburger. I need to get her off all of that and get her on Merricks, but she seems to get an upset stomach from anything else.

| ![]() Cooper gets wet Merrick 2x a day, and the dry left out all the time. I was just giving dry, but his vet said she thinks the little dogs like him need more than just the dry. Some days he will eat all or most of his wet and then nibble on the dry throughout the day, sometimes he doesn't really eat at all. As he gets older, I will cut down on the wet to once a day.

| ![]() My three get one half boiled egg smashed up with one fourth can of puppy Cesear's twice a day each. Same amount for all of them and I leave two kinds of dry food down at all times. Somedays they eat it and some days they don't. Oh, and they also get the occasional two or three tiny bites of whatever kind of meat we are having. Last edited by Sugar's Mom; 04-20-2006 at 03:38 PM. | ![]() i've found that introducing can food makes them not eat the dry and wait for the "good stuff". i do feed eukanuba hearty beef chunks in gravy as a treat (one pouch for 3 of them), but not everyday. Mine eat the dry very well. my mom spoils her malteses rotten and they will even turn their noses up to chicken and hamburger. Hers also have bouts of vomiting, diarrhea, tonsilitis, etc. where mine have never had any problems. It seems like hers are always at the vet for one thing or another. |

| ![]() I split a pouch of Nutro Natural Choice dinners - e.g., Yankee Pot Roast or Chicken and Vegetables - between Rex (13 weeks and 3 lbs) and Rowdy (14 months and 4 1/2 lbs) about once every day or every other day. Then i keep dry out all the time.

| ![]() Bogey and Gabe tired of Merrick's dry food about a month ago after being on it from November so I tried them on California Natural Chicken and Brown Rice kibbles. They like that and have that for both breakfast and lunch. It stays down all the time. However, for dinner I give them rice cooked in 1/2 water and 1/2 chicken broth as well as a tablespoon or so of canned Merrick's Grammy's Pot Pie or Thanksgiving Day Dinner. They recently have been crazy for the canned version of the California Natural Chicken and Brown Rice. |

| ![]() Cesar Select Dinners for Small Dogs with Beef in Meaty Juices 3.5 oz. Sufficient water for processing, beef by-products, meat by-products, liver, poultry by-products, beef, calcium carbonate, sodium tripolyphosphate, caramel coloring, carrageenan, dried yam, xanthan gum, natural flavors, salt, erythorbic acid, guar gum, potassium chloride, zinc sulfate, sodium nitrite (for color retention), vitamin A, D3, and E supplements, d-calcium pantothenate, thiamine mononitrate (vitamin B1). ********************************* The popular guideline is to avoid by-products. In the first 4 ingredients, 3 are indeed by-products. My girls get a teaspoon of Innova Evo twice per day mixed in their dry food. This is the list of Evo ingredients. They are all human grade. Turkey Chicken Turkey Broth Chicken Broth Chicken Meal Herring Carrots Whole Eggs Salmon Meal Natural Flavors Guar Gum Seaweed Extract Apples Tomato Flakes Cottage Cheese Herring Oil Potassium Chloride Apple Fiber Inulin Vitamin C Sea Salt Choline Chloride Sunflower Oil Beta Carotene Vitamins/Minerals

by products scare me. they could be anything. I think I'm going to get some canned food and start feeding it once a day, either that or cook up some chicken and freeze it. I just don't think Ollie eats enough. | |

| ![]() i have just this week tried Nutro Puppy Lamb and Rice canned for a change, along with Nutro Lamb and Rice dry and her usual Royal canin dry. She has dry for breakfast and lunch and wet for dinner, if we are not having chicken or beef to give her a little of.She thinks it's ok-but not overly keen. The cat likes it,though!

| ![]() Twinkle has always turned her nose up at canned food. She has Purina dry puppy food, and either a chicken leg, scrambled egg, or tuna in spring water. I dont mind though as we dont really use tinned foods so much anyway. ![]() |
