are CET chews safe?

My friend just gave me some CET dental chews that her pup doesn't like. I'm just wondering if they are safe to use?

IMHO, no, not safe.

I use them, but I hold them while my boys chew, and I don't let the boys swallow any piece of it.

One of Wylie's Mom's kids choked on one and almost died. The chews are a serious choking hazard.

Yup...and it was prob one of the scariest moments of life (and I've had my share!).

What I do now is I give CET chews that are sized too big for them. In other words, I size up so that they can chew on them, but are unable to consume them.

Sizing up is what several good breeders here do, and it works for most pups. However, crazy strong chewers like Max and Teddy still have to be supervised, even with the medium size CET.

Max managed to slobber and chew enough to turn the CET chew into something resembling a wet potato chip. He swallowed it whole it before I could get it away from him. Thankfully, nothing happened. Teddy has scissor teeth and is capable of nibbling pieces off.

Yup, same with Wylie. He's like Max and Teddy - a super aggressive chewer! Wylie can consume almost every type of chew we give him (except raw meaty bones), so we watch him close bc he can down something so fast, it never ceases to surprise me what a powerful little jaw/mouth that little guy has.
