| ![]() Hi all, I am a yorkie mom to Martini, and new to the forum. We are enjoying him so much, just what empty nesters needed, even my husband who said no house dogs! He is really chewing and I wanted to get him some new chew sticks, but thanks to this forum, now realize that might not be a good idea. He is right at 10 weeks old and is chewing on the edge of our area rug and furniture. We give him toys to distract, he has several toys, but seems to prefer chew sticks and I have caught him bringing in sticks from outside. Thought about pig ears, but need some ideas. Thanks in advance! |

YT 2000 Club Member | ![]() Have you heard of Bully Sticks? I have 2 puppies that need to chew and they love them. They are fully digestible......some one did say their yorkie cracked a tooth when chewing on one, so you may want to weight the pro & cons of them. I give them to my girls as I haven't found any thing else to replace it.

| ![]() It sounds like your baby is teething, and chewing can definitely help with that. You can try baby carrots cut into 1/4 sticks and frozen green beans. The cold will help his little gums feel better, plus he's getting a healthy snack that won't add too many calories to his diet. As with anything he can chew, only give them to him when you can supervise. Even healthy veggies can pose a choking risk.

| ![]() Pig ears are very high in fat, bully sticks, antlers and Himalayan chews can all break teeth my yorkie just broke one of her teeth on a bully stick. There are chews called get naked that are kinda chewy and pretty healthy I have seen them at petco maybe try those and teething toys.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | ![]() There is a silicone bear (Safemade Gimme Gummy) that is an incredible chewy toy, but even better, you can fill it with (my fave) Fruitables and freeze it. A great way to get them some extra prebiotic fiber, get them interested in getting the good stuff out, great nutrition, and a great pass time. All of that while numbing the gums on frozen deliciousness! |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | ![]() Also the Nylabones are great. Galen is a big chewer. I also go a leather toy that he loves and he has not distroyed it yet. Those little needle teeth kill a lot of toys. There is also kongs that you can fill with peanut butter and other items and freeze them. Lasts longer that way. I have two so he has one to chew when one is in the freezer. No waiting
