My little Lillie is 6 yrs old...she has ALWAYS been very good about using the pads...However.....now she will go to the pad and as soon as her feet hit it she pees....on the floor! I can't scold her because she IS on the pad...just the wrong end....any suggestions what I could do? I have been working on them going outside...Sadie...the older of the 3, will pee and poop outside...Lillie pees outside and poops inside....Bentley will NOT go pee OR poop outside.

Not sure if this is terribly useful, but before we took away the pee pads for Hulk (training him to go outside), he was doing the same thing...two paws on the pad and squat. It was frustrating, but there wasn't much we could do, right? lol.

What I did was put a little fence around the pee pad. We had these plastic fences that people use in their backyards? We used those to make his pen for his early days, and still use them to block off rooms (he's 6 mos now). I broke off the spikey part used to insert into the ground so it would stand in the living room. Our living room is small, so I wasn't too keen on a huge tall pen. Luckily, he never tried to clilmb or jump it.

Anyhow, the pee pad was against the wall, and I used the plastic fence as a boundary around the other two sides of the pee pad so there was only one side to enter/exit. For some reason, that really clicked with him and he got on the pee pad much more consistently. There were still the occasional two paw squats, but a lot less than before the fence.

Perhaps a boundary of some sorts might help? I think others have found that one of those pee pad holder/trays work as well...I was going to get one, but since we wanted to train him to go outside we didn't want to pay for one.
