In the other thread we found out how much we are willing to pay for our yorkie. So I am here to ask, what is the demographic of the people who would want a yorkie. Being new to this site, I don't know who you yorkie lovers are. I'm trying to do my research on who is the favorite candidate to have my yorkie. Who is best and capable to provide for my yorkie so that I can price my yorkie at a fair and reasonable price. As we all can see the price range from $300 to over $3000. So who out there are most likely to pony up some hard earn money for a love of a life time????? Age, sex, ethnicity, etc.... I myself only see yorkies on t.v with movie stars... so they don't count.

I'm a 29 yr old stay at home mom, both of my girls are in school and I would pay up to $6000 depending on the family tree, bloodlines, sired. I buy show quality (just to show not to breed)and I would never buy over the net, from someone who wouldn't let me see their home, nursery, and both parents medical history.

I'm a 26 year old stay-at-home mom. I was willing to pay up to $1000 for pet quality.

((I'm so out of it I put that I was 29 first! LOL -- my husband is 29 today though!!))

I am a 20 year old college student and would be willing to pay around $500 -$700 for a yorkie that was strictly just for a home...no breeding or showing...just lots of love!!!

I am 22 year old female who is married with a full time job. I paid $1900 for my yorkie and would do it again. I do not breed or show, she is strictly for fun!!

thanks guys.. wow we are all come from such different background... I guess in order to be more accurate on how to price my dog and see what kind of interest that is out there for them I have to tell you a little about them right?? ok here it is..

My female is roughly 6 lbs. and male is almost 7 lb depending on his hair cut...Nice teeth, very healthy, great shiny coat, I bath them 3-4 times a week. They stay inside with us when I get home from work, but when I'm at work they stay in their doggy house so they won't get into any trouble or tear up the house. On the weekend they stay with us and even sleep on the bed with us...hehehehe They are diffinitely "pet quality" although my female comes from champion bloodline, or so that is what the breeder I bought her from told me but I can't read the pedigree. ANd yes I do have the pedigree. I'm not sure how big or what the pups will look like yet, she is due in a month or so.

With that in mind, what is a fair price range for the pups???

I'm a poor 21 year-old college student. I paid around $500 for Stewie. He's AKC registered, but I have no idea if there are champions in his bloodline. He is not of show quality and will probably be about 5lbs full grown (he's 3lbs now at 4.5 months). I would pay about $650 at the most for a puppy with parents 6lbs or 7lbs that are registered. Who are they registered with?

I want to get him a brother or sister in the fews years. I will probably go to a more well-known respected breeder than I did with Stewie and pay more. I don't want any of those famed "tea cup", but would like a dog whose parents are in the 4 to 5lb range.

my females are register with AKC and my male is registered with CKC... unfortunately I didn't know any better when I start buying my pups. I don't buy because of the registration. I just buy for who they are...loveable puppies at a fair price that I can afford. I didn't think about breeding them, but now that it happened.. oh well.. more for me right??? heheheheh now to get the litter registered, I have to register the females with CKC also as AKC don't and won't recognize my stud registration with CKC.... what a bummer....

my other female she is only 3-4lbs range. She's small compare to Mercy. I'm not sure if I want to breed my 3lb (Sadie) cus she's too small and I worry too much about her having C-section.

Registration means nothing to me either, but I think it weeds out a lot of dishonest breeders who pretend their babies are purebreds. Congratulations on the pups. Have you come to a decision on how your'e going to sell them and for how much? I wonder if anyone on the forum is interested.

well to tell you the truth.. i haven't. I'm a newbie at this. Not a seasoned breeder. Just have loveable dogs that did their natural thing.. and poooop she's pregnant...hehehehehh pricing?? no no idea yet.. I might just base it on what I see the average cost for them on the papers. I see that female are more expensive than the male. Not sure if there are alot of people from Houston in this site. But if asked really nice I might be able to drive as far as 100 miles to deliver them to the front door...hehehehehe

Right now I have a litter 5 of Siberian Huskies.. they will be 3 weeks old this Tuesday. All have beautiful mask and blue eyes... 2 are already spoken for, 3 left... all are for $400. just an FYI... my yorkies and huskies get along so well.

This is my first time posting anything on the site but I have been reading everyone else's information and have found you all very helpful with training my 6 month old Sprocket. But I too have had this same question and more regarding breeding, size, age etc. We are getting a female named Katie next week and she is also 6 months old and 2ib 8oz my Sprocket is 3ibs 7oz. I'd want to wait at least till they are 1.5 years old before we start anything like that. Wow the price range is pretty incredible we paid $600 can. for Sprocket (not registered) and Katie is $1350. can.($1000 apx. U.S.)(she's registered with breeding rights) but we have to really look for them in Canada we have to drive 9 hours to pick her up! I've always loved Yorkies (my aunt had 2 ) and our dogs will also be pets and health first and puppies if I'm lucky
