| ![]() Hi all. Need some guidance with my 14 month old male. I visited with my sister yesterday who has a female shih tzu. Mr. Darcey barked, lunged, growled at her and would not calm down. He does the same when I walk him and he sees another dog. I do not know what to do? ![]() |

| ![]() Does he get any kind of socialization with other dogs? He might just be protecting mommy. ![]()

| ![]() When visiting, I would use a harness and leash, and treats to help him learn what behavior is expected, and what is not allowed ![]()

| ![]() ![]() He is much better with people. He loves my granddaughters. When I walk him and see another dog, we usually go the opposite way. I do not know the first thing to do to try and break this behavior. Any ideas, books, etc. would be appreciated. I inquired of a trainer but do not know if I can afford in house training. Bringing him to a group session would just disrupt everyone. |

| ![]() With our first little girl who did not like other dogs - she was our 'only child' and I don't think she realized she was a dog ![]()

| ![]() My yOrkie does this also when we on walks. When she is at daycare she gets along with everyone I guess cause I am not around. We had a friend over with his yorkie a few months ago and Ella barked and growled at the yorkie for a few minutes and we let them sniff each other and after that they were best friends. He comes over almost every weekend now! |
