He is not socialized with other animals since I was apprehensive after seeing his behavior on our walks. I convinced my sister to let me bring Darcy over to meet her Chloe just to see what he would do. I had a harness on him and he was leashed. I tried three times to get him near her but he was having none of it, so brought him home. He just would not calm down.
He is much better with people. He loves my granddaughters. When I walk him and see another dog, we usually go the opposite way. I do not know the first thing to do to try and break this behavior. Any ideas, books, etc. would be appreciated. I inquired of a trainer but do not know if I can afford in house training. Bringing him to a group session would just disrupt everyone.
