| ![]() I haven't understood yet why female yorkies are usually more expensive than male yorkies. Anyone can explain to me? For some reasons, I would like a male yorkie. It is cheaper and yorkies are all cute anyway.. so it works for me. But who knows I might fall in love with a female yorkie when I look for a future pup.

| ![]() well my own belief as to why they are more expensive is b/c they are the ones that whelp the baby pups, but I could be wrong.

| ![]() Yes they are higher because you can breed them. That doesnt explain why some breeders who have limited registration(you cant breed them) still charge a higher price I know.

| ![]() I'm sure it also has something to do with the fact that Yorkies are toy dogs. There are so many accessories/clothes/carriers/etc. for girl dogs and very few for boys. Take a look at the dog aisle at any Target and you'll see PINK. It's just in demand. Limited registration dogs are supposed to get fixed anyway, so that shouldn't matter. The demand is simply higher for girls. We have a boy and I love him! He is tough and my husbands best little bud. We do obedience and it's so fun. He has SUCH a personality and so much energy. He's just awesome!!!

| ![]() I agree Chachi, it doesn't make sense to make them more expensive if they have limited registration since they can't be bred. Erin, I can see why you say females are more expensive too...People want to dress up the little girls and stuff. |

| ![]() I agree it doesn't make any sense. I was trying to make the same point as chachi about the limited registration. Although, I do have to say that no one came and knocked on my door to make sure Loki was neutered. That's kind of scary isn't it? I think the price difference is crazy because I love my little boy but I just see these little pink dogs everywhere and that must be what more people want. I love my boy but I can see how it might be hard to decide. That must be why so many people have one of each!!!

| ![]() This is a very good question. I have thought of this and what comes to mind is that females can be bred, like others mention. Oh well I love my little Gucci girl so much. |
