| ![]() This is why my boys are Yorkies and I have 2 of them...just one mini schnauzie is enough! They stay clean in the yard...come in and take a rest. I can just hear them..."Please leave the dirty girl outside Mom" and Princess Monster, "I wasn't in the mud Mom I swear!" Given we live in a rain forest and we did remove lots of plants but really does she always have to 4x4 in the mud the day after her weekly bath!?! the boys just get all scruffily from the wet grass...

| ![]() Too cute!! I also have a mini-schnauzer and he looks just like that when he comes in and it is muddy!! I also have one female rescue yorkie that just had puppies. I am planning on keeping one of the puppies - how is it with a schnauzer and two yorkies?? Your babies are sooo cute!! |

| ![]() Oh my goodness!! That is incredibly adorable in a dirty kind of way! LOL. Isn't it the truth though, about just how different their personalities are. And doesn't that child know he/she's wearing a white t-shirt?

| ![]() Thanks for the comments everyone! Yes, there is a pretty drastic difference in the Yorkie personality vs the Schnauzer personality! I would not do what I did and get a young schnauzer (mini or not) with an older Yorkie having the reverse would be better but then again the individual personalty of the dog matters more than generalizations. Luckily this works for us with our mixed pack though. Princess is a very typical mini schnauzer-hardy, enduring, dominant, yet loving and inquisitive. She definitely rules the roost here...everything is hers! She sees a mud puddle and goes mud bogging through it! She really thinks she is part polar bear, and oh the shnauzer glare! princess will hunt you down to see what you are doing and if you are busy she's off to find mischief! Schnauzers were ratters but also herding dogs for small farm animals-they require a bit of mental stimulation for sure or they can become destructive-my CHANEL BOOTS were a prime example of that-I will miss them dearly. Elvis is the ideal lap dog Yorkie persona, he is mello, enjoys grooming, if could would do back flips to get attention, out side he will hop from safe clean place to safe clean place and really gets cheesed off when Princess gets him dirty and love, he will instantly submit to anyone LOL-well okay he rolls over and you rub his belly, he's my lil shadow dog follows me all around the house-he will literally get up from sleeping to follow me if I leave the room. Elvis has only recently began to play like a dog chasing toys etc, he is quite content as long as he gets attention and then a nice clean place to play...but being a ratter by origin he will shake the stuffing out of a toy that moves, of course then he drops it and goes to bath himself like a cat. In fact he's sitting on m desk right now and Princess is chewing toys on the other side of the room on her bed! Scoobers is a Schnorkie-yep a hybrid mix of both a Yorkie an mini schnauzer-he's a strange one! He love playing with Princess and relaxing with Elvis...my dogs do not snuggle though they will all pack next to each other but require their own little space...here's how my couch usually looks-note this is now the dog couch. My avatar pic with the Yorkies on the chair and the schnauzie on the floor (well she was looming around trying to get up prior) is the closest they will sleep to each other, Elvis on the pillow Scoobers on the cushion and Princess having given up on the floor!
