What is the "normal" sleep time for a yorkie? - YorkieTalk.com Forums

My dog Hazel seems to be sleeping a lot. I just noticed this because I'm on spring break, so I see how she acts during the day (when I'm usually at work) and she seems to be sleeping A LOT! Is this normal? How many hours is considered normal for a yorkie?

She's 1 year and 3 months.

I dont know how many hours are normal but my Marley is 8 months old and i am at work all day as well but i come home at lunch to let her out for about 45 min. Everytime I come thru the door she is stretching ( she has just woke up ) . When my husband and I are at home she sleeps alot during the day. If we play with her all day she will sleep alot during the night. They really dont have a set schedule. Or at least mine doesnt. Weekdays she sleeps alot during the day. Weekends she sleeps whenever we take naps or at night.

yes! I was out of town for 4 days, so she was over at my sister's and she has 3 kids

. That may be a huge factor! Perhaps she didn't get to nap as much as she usually does at home.

My 3 year old, Ittybit, sleeps alot. Shes always been lazy lol.

A lot of dogs sleep a lot! I know bulldogs are known to sleep around 15 or 18 hours a day (I forget which one!) LOL. But yeah, it's normal. As long as she's acting herself and feeling fine, she's good. Jackson takes random naps throughout the day and sleeps through the night from about 10pm-8am.
