| ![]() Jamie's neuter is scheduled for Wednesday (Its his 6 month BDay.) and I am already freaking out. I know that everyone says that vets do neuters everyday and that its routine, but I can't help but worry. Jamie is my baby boy and I don't know what I would do without him. My mom says that its silly that I'm this worked up about it, but he's only 3.5 lbs. I asked her if she would feel comfortable with a skin baby that small going under anesthesia and she said no but he's a dog. ![]()

| ![]() It is so hard. I was really worried when Zoey was spayed. It will be time for Chloe soon. You are a good mommy to be worried about your baby boy. Im sure he will be fine.

| ![]() I know exactly what you mean. In another month or so, I'll be in your shoes and I already get nervous about it sometimes. It's just incredible how these little guys can get into your heart like no one else. You have love for your little guy, you have trust in your vet, now you just have to have faith. I'll keep you guys in my thoughts this week, and let us know how everything goes. I'm sure everything will be fine!

YT 2000 Club Member | ![]() Aweeee, God bless your heart for loving your furbaby so much. I think it's very normal to worry about our furbabies like that. For those who say, "it's just a dog" well, I feel bad for them, cause if that's truly how they feel, then they've never really experienced the love of a furkid before ![]()

| ![]() I know exactly how you feel!!! My pixie has gone in to be spayed this morning. I think the vet thinks i have a screw loose in my head or something. I rang on saturday and kept her on the phone for 45 mins asking the same questions I did when my DH made the appointment. I couldn't drop her off becuase i know i would make a scene. I am going to collect her in 5 hours and 15 mins and it has been the longest morning. She is a spirited little girl and is so friendly to every one i am praying it doesnt break her unique personality. We have a span new bed for her to come home to with her favourite teddy all washed and clean and have her favourite dinner chicken with rice for her when she feels up to it. I think we are good mommys and daddys if we worry about our furbabies, only thing is my DH says "what are you going to be like if we have kids, as in humans???" i said " no different my furbabies are my furry kids!!!!" i will let you know how she got on and will be thinking of you on thursday!!

| ![]() The fact that you are concerned is a good thing: it means you care about your furbaby. My pup was neutered two weeks ago today; I worried about him so much, and my hubby tried to keep my spirits up, but you could hear it in his voice when he called me to tell me that the vet's office had called to tell us the procedure was done and he was just fine. He was so relieved ... We took him in at 0730 and they called at 0900 - so it didn't take long (and I know they didn't take him immediately). And he was ready to go home by 3:00 that same day. He was a little sleepy the rest of the day - didn't do too much - but the next day he was back to his old self. Neutering is much less invasive than spaying - and THAT'S safe. Your baby will be just fine ... let the nice, caring folks here know when all is well. |

| ![]() Thanks guys! I am feeling somewhat better about it today or at least for the moment. Still scared but not as panicked. It is so much easier to share my fears with people who understand how much I love him. When I was little my family raised hunting dogs and they NEVER came inside... so me keeping a puppy inside is a stretch for them much less letting him sleep with me and buying him clothes and toys and blankets...

| ![]() Pixie is just back from the vet, my poor baby is all quiet with a "lampshade" on her head (not sure if it is the anaesthesia or the indignity of wearing the lampshade that has her so quiet). She all curled up in ball in her new bed and blankie, up on the couch and have a heater nearby as well. (as you can see in the pic) But she is fine everything went well and she even gave mommy a kiss.

| ![]() How long do the boys have to wear the lamp shade after they are neutered? My Jambo will have to go in next month and I am not looking forward to it. |
