| ![]() Okay so I love my Yorkie, and she loves to go bye bye when my husband and I go run errands. Every time I take her out people seem to flock out of hidden corners to play with her and pet her. ![]()

| ![]() Nope, I feel the same way. I can kind of understand if it was a child. But my mother always taught me to ask and let the dog smell you even before you ever touch it. And, I suppose now that I am older I will smile and look at a cute dog but don't hassle it's owner just because I want to pet it. I have my own cutest fur baby at home anyways ![]() |

| ![]() lol!!! Thats too funny, I just got Parker a stroller and we went shopping our first day in it, 2 days before Christmas...mmmm, I am not sure that it helped out much more. Everyone had to stop and peak in it. But at least I didn't have a bunch of dirty hands all over him. IDK I really appreciate when people complement Parker but like you said at a distance. With the stroller they kinda just peak in it and I pretty much push on my merry way. I actually think it might have brought more attention to myself. (not to mention a few heads shaking, and some serious "crazy dog lady" looks) I don't care though, he is my one and only baby and I will continue to spoil and bring him where I go! ![]() |

| ![]() Thats funny, my husband thinks people are crazy when they put there dogs in strollers but if it keeps the crazies at bay then I say go ahead....haha.

| ![]() Whats funny was my husband wanted to get it the second we seen it in the store...lol. And I'll admit one day a few years ago before I discovered the yorkie breed and feel in love, I seen a lady pushing one around in a baby stroller and chuckled to myself ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | ![]() Yorkies are just so darned cute, I don't think we'll ever solve this one. I'm usually pleasantly surprised that most people, even kids, ask me before they pet them. But occasionally I'll run into someone who blurts out "Oh, I've owned Yorkies," and try to pick them up without asking. Those are the ones that irritate me. I draw the line at picking them up. I tell them NO, unless they ask first.

| ![]() You are totally right. One should ask before petting our babies for various reasons. I, for one, made a mistake the other day. ![]() ![]()

| ![]() bella is cute...lol..ok i get it... but sometimes, not so much now as before, she can be a piddle pup! so when people pet her she makes a tiny mess. i am not aways armed with papertowel!!!!! so if its their store they have to clean it!! i am grateful she is growing out of this phase. When people ignore her she behaves so much better. I am trying to train her to be in social situations without looking like a maniac. But people talk to her in a high fast voice and rustle her up big time. one guy did this a couple of days a go and said..hey look... she is just a ball of nerve endings on leash. This really hurt my feelings. If he had not gotten her so excited she would have just sat there like before he walked up ![]() |

| ![]() Well, I'm one of the crazy people, but, it's not just yorkies, when I see someone with a cute little dog, I do pet them, I love dogs, and no one has ever seemed to be upset with me for petting them..of course, I talk to the dog first, and most of the time the owners..never took one out of anyones arms though, and never would..It never bothers me when anyone pets any of my dogs, they love it(the dogs do).. ![]() |

| ![]() One thing is for certain! If you own Yorkies (or any small, cute pup), you cannot be a shy wallflower ![]() ![]() ![]() I took them to my dd's soccer game and one of the girls from the opposing team just reached right into the stroller and tried to pick up Luna ![]() ![]() ![]()

| ![]() This is a funny and touchy subject at the same time.My cousin was just telling me how upset she was by strangers always comming up and reaching inside her coat and petting her max without asking.she was musing over the thought that it would be nice if he wasn't so sweet and actually snipped at them at least once.she said one lady reached in so quick she touched her breast before she could react.she says all they have to do is ask and she would always say yes.well yesterday I was reading a post and the lady in question did the same thing and the dog snapped at her I couldn't stop laughing.(although the other thing that happened I do not agree with or condone) but I say ask first you really don't know if the dog is not friendly and think of the owners feelings.
