Today my Lily is 57 days pregnant and I listened with my stethescope and heard one of the unborn yorkies heart beating. It was very fast!! I started taking her temperature a few days ago too. She is staying around 100.2 - 100.6. Is it true that their temperature will actually rise before it falls when they are about to go into labor? I just read that one on the internet.

If you take the trouble of taking a rectal temperature for a few days prior to expected delivery, for some reason the rectal temperature goes from a normal 101.4 F down to about 99 F within 24 hours of delivery.

Most of the time, but not always. I have a breeding female who has yet to have her temp drop before delivery. She should give you plenty of warning though. I'm sure you have already presented her with a whelping box/area. Prior to whelp, she will seek a quiet secluded area (hopefully the box!) and will begin nesting. Good luck!
