| Jim, it's people like you who deserve the big Thank You. We wouldn't have known this was even going on without your willingness to speak out. Thank you! I've been reading and re-reading the information on products that contain palm oil. Palm Oil is everywhere it seems. I'm amazed and disappointed at how many of them I use regularly, even my toothpaste and deodorant have palm oil. I'm working to find alternative products and weed out everything I can from my house. I know it's not much, but I'll try to do my part.

| This is very sad. I have a big problem with shark finning as well and this is up there with that barbaric and sick practice.

You know, I've known about this for years, but thought it was confined to the 'cheap' baked goods and pastries. Boy, did I get a real eye-opener when I re-visited the subject. I think the RSPO has 'legitimized' its use and now it's everywhere. So now I'm checking labels on EVERYTHING...it takes a while to shop these days....but it'll get easier. Just part of the learning curve.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Crap went to the lists and I have palmoil products in my house. WTH toothpaste? I think I might need to take it room by room. Like start with my bathroom and try to make it palmoil free. Thanks Jim, I had no idea this was going on. We do try to eat organic here, but I certainly can do more to rid my house of this palm oil stuff. okay techno savvy is there an app to put this list on a blackberry?

| Gail, I'm no techhie by any stretch. Hopefully someone can help you with that. However, for those that don't like to read a whole thread, I think it might be a good idea to re-post the pertinent links in one spot. Here's the links that tell the story.... Animals Evolved orangutans International Animal Rescue - News - Our team witnesses unspeakable cruelty towards orangutans in Borneo THE IMPACT OF OIL PALM IN BORNEO Palm Oil | Rainforest Action Network Palm Oil Crisis .....and here's the links for the lists of products with palm oil. http://www.cmzoo.org/docs/palmOilSho...-March2011.pdf SAY NO TO PALM OIL There are so many animal welfare issues, but this is one that we are all unknowingly contributing to. The good thing about that is that we can all DO something about it. We can all take stock of the products we use and also spread the word through our e-mail lists, Facebook and other social networks. We CAN make a difference on this one!!

| Here is a link that explains why the RSPO (Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil) is more industry PR while it touts itself to be some sort of 'green' alternative. The Great RSPO Membership Myth: Why Buying from RSPO Members Is Meaningless Rainforest Action Network Blog

| So sad. The picture of the mother and child was so heartbreaking. You could see the hopelessness in the mother's downcast eyes and the fear in her child clinging to her. I definitely am making needed changes in my buying habits.

| I received a petition from change.org about the use of palm oil and Trader Joe's. I really like that company and shop there often. It led me to some links about Palm oil and how to avoid using it. This is a very short and powerful video of a little deaf girl who is talking to an orangutan via computer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G32YehcdUAw Say No To Palm Oil | What Can I Do Say No To Palm Oil | Save Endangered Species | Stop Deforestation https://www.change.org/p/trader-joe-...oil/u/11191647 https://www.change.org/p/trader-joe-...TNZASgWPEus%3D
