| She refuses to do the tetter totter! Bailey just finished her first session of agility and did great, She starts her next session next week but we were to excited to wait so my boyfriend made us almost all the equipment and then we went out and bought the tunnels (cuz theres not really a way to make them) anywho... Bailey loves EVERYTHING she runs through the tunnel just for fun does great at the weaves and jumps her jumps at full height with ease... The only issue is that darn teeter totter! She wasnt scared of it at all when we were in class but yesterday we were doing it with her and she just froze up, she stood in the middle and wouldnt move and looked at me with those pleading eyes begging me not to make her do it. I tried to coax her with a treat but with no luck... I pulled her off we went and did the tunnel and jumps (cuz those are her favorite) and then went back to the tetter totter and she did the same thing. She hates the tetter totter and I dont know why! We tried again today and I had to pull her the whole way. I feel like a bad mommy forcing her to do it but the trainer says that if something happens that makes them not want to do it anymore u have to keep on with it or else they will never want to do it again. She loves agility and is so happy doing it but this darn tetter is ruining all our fun!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Listen to your trainer. Maybe wait on the teeter till next class. Trainer may be able to help you & him through it. Possibly his seeing other dogs using the teeter will help give him courage. Use treats that smell really yummy. Don't give up on him. He can do this. Help him through the fear. This is new to him & he's scared. Be patient. Once he gets it, he'll be sooo proud & so will you. : ) I'm no trainer, but have worked w/animals. If you have skinkids & don't want to go to school, do they get to stay home? You make them go anyway. You make them eat, take baths, naps, bedtime, play nice. That's what good moms do. Without it, we have spoiled brats & delinquents. Being a good mom is not easy. You help them through the fear, encourage them, & you don't give up on them. Good luck!

| Thanks for the words of encouragement. Im still working with her every day on it and im hoping she will get used to it. Its so funny, our little Layla who did horrible at agility class (my boyfriend had to practically drag her through the whole class) she hated it and didnt even graduate can do the teeter totter and has no problem but for some reason Bailey is terrified of it =(

Maybe try Bailey on a level plank in your backyard. When you lift one end make sure that someone is on that end to control the down of the teeter. Razz is not thrilled with the hoop they jump through. Somehow it is foreign to him. Today we go again, and I will try another technique to see if he will jump through that one

We still hold the one end so it dosnt clash down really loud but she made up her mind that its evil
