| One of my vests is on an auction I put one of my Lola Rose vests on a fundraising site that a designer friend organized. I was so nervous about what people would say, but so far it has been bid up to $55.00. None of the money will go to me, but it is exciting since most of the items up for bid are by high end pup designers. I have to say it would not be my choice for a fundraiser but the gal that is running it has put so much into that I wanted to support her cause. Hope the price goes higher. Oh I don't plan on selling these vests, they are just for charity. https://www.facebook.com/groups/auct...=group_comment

| $60 now! Congrats on the feedback. I hope they raise enough to cover Pretty's expenses.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | WOW, that is Beautiful Donna, I think that is a great way to raise money. I wonder if other charities do the same or if YHR and the other here on YT would be interested in doing that. They definitely have a great following here to advertise the auction and their cause.

| thank you guys, your nice comments mean a lot. Thanks to Yorkie Talk I discovered I really like sewing, but even more so I love the design process. The vests themselves are not to hard to make and then I get to have fun with all the embellishments. Lola does not need that many items and since I really do not have the desire to sell dog clothes, I thought that I would offer them as gift in exchange for a donation to an animal rescue group. I do have plans to hold a few auctions of my own in the future to raise money for Yorkie Haven and Yorkie 911. All the vests will be gifted under the name Lola Rose and have a least one, but usually more crocheted roses on them. The name is a combination of my pup and my grandmother Rose. Now if I could just learn to crochet, this would be easier. I found a very nice grandmother on ETSY that makes them for me very reasonably, but sometimes I don't have just the right size or color I need so I plan to learn to do this in the fall.

| If any of you guys have any ideas on how best to set up a charity auction site let me know. My thoughts were to do it through FB as a group and call it Lola Rose and Friends. This way some other providers of dog clothing or items could auction off things if they wanted. I don't want this to be something full time, I only want to make at the most 12 or 15 vests a year. I also don't know if FB charges you if you do this. One thing I know for sure is I do not want to touch the money. My initial thought was to select the charity and then the person makes the donation directly to them, then the charity tells me they have the donation and I send the vest. Then I started thinking what if the high bidder got to pick their charity of choice, or I could find a specific dog in need and hold the auction for them, my gut is telling me that if you have a specific dog you raise more money. The only restriction would be that it has to be through a legit small breed rescue group. That is the one thing that bothered me about this current auction, it was not done that way, it was an individual that needed the funds and she needed a lot of money. Like I mentioned in my first post, I did it mostly because of the gal that organized it, but I would prefer to go through a rescue group. Anyway thanks for letting me ramble, I have been thinking a lot about this and want to do it the right way and also have these items go for some good money. If you look at that auction site you will see that the "perceived" couture designers get a lot of money for their designs, there are people paying well over $200.00 for some of those clothing items so since I am interested in getting as much money for the charity the Lola Rose stuff has to be though of as high end. Thanks again and all ideas are welcome.

| congrats...yes i think the facebook page would be an awsome idea donna. and i agree on being sure it is a 501c3 or a specific animal in need so you know the money is going to the cause...and not in someone's pocket. awesome job donna you are very kind to give back so much!!
