Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Latest Creation Hey guys! Sorry to be so quiet the past few days. We have had to babysit my nephews a good bit and things have just been crazy hectic. But between all the crazyness, I worked on my next project for my Mom. It's not dog clothing, but I thought I would share. Mom picked out this fabric and the pattern at Joann. This dress was made using Simplicity pattern 2766. This one was a bit tricky, I won't lie. LOL. The pattern itself was easy, but working with this stretchy knit fabric was a new learning experience. We altered the pattern up a bit by leaving the sleeves flaired instead of having cuffs on them. We also added a bit of trim to the sleeves. Mom bought the scarf she is wearing with it to add a pop of color. I am going to try this pattern again this week with a different fabric. I read up all I could on working with knits and I think for a first try, it was ok. But I definitely need lots more practice!!!! But I just thought I would share a pic of Mom as she went off to school to teach this morning. She looked so cute!

| you have one cute momma!! so... I have a lot of animal print, you think it is tacky lol...just look at chico's new spring line I guess that is what living in miami has done to me lol I also found that working with knit is easier with a serger. And breaking up the print with aqua is excellent. I think it is very nice

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I agree. Serger is the way to go. And pinning so you don't pull and stretch the fabric. Great job!

| Wow! I think it's really great! You have a beautiful mother and I bet she's proud that you do this for her!! You are very talented. I am afraid to work with knits, especially on my serger. Seems like no matter what I do, I stretch the fabric and end up with rumpley edges. LOL You did a great job!!
