| question on two week old puppies On July 18th, Rosie Mae gave us four beautiful babies. All boys. They were two weeks old on Friday and are very healthy. I do have one question - has anyone ever had a puppy (sorry for this being kind of gross) but my littlest pup has white stool. I have only seen it twice as Rosie is doing a wonderful job as a mom. He is the smallest but also the fastest at getting around the box. I am not sure whether this is something I need the vet to check or not. I have only seen one other stool and it was the normal color. Can anyone provide info on this. |

| I'm not sure either but I remember asking a breeder and was told that if the stool looked like a light greyish it meant that it was overeating... You want to ask your vet. Genie |

| I've seen my adult yorkies with a white stool before -- it was from something they ate. I'd definitely call the vet and ask. Since he is doing so well otherwise, I doubt that it is an emergency.

| Thank you all for your replies. I took a stool sample to the vet and she is at a loss. He is still gaining weight (3 weeks old today and 10.4 oz), he is very active, more so than his litter mates who are bigger and therefore slower, and he is very alert. Vet found no evidence of parasites and wanted to wait til he was 6 weeks old to do testing if this is still occurring at that time. She did mention liver shunt so am doing my homework on that. Please keep him in your prayers. He is soooo little and just a little doll. Will keep you all posted. Thank you again. |
