| Looking For A Good Quality Yorkie Hi, this is my very first post in yorkietalk. I have been looking for a healthy yorkie for about a year now. We're a loving family that will provide the utmost care for our new puppy. I'm located in New Jersey, but am willing to travel in order to get a healthy pup and/or have someone ship it to me, however; I'd pefer to see the pup before I buy. I have encountered breeders online that are just looking to sell to anyone, and people selling yorkies without the mother or father of the puppy on site. Such examples are yorkies coming from Brazil or Ireland. For the good yorkies I do find, they are priced over 2,000 dollars and have already been sold by before the pup is even born. I want to purchase a relatively small yorkie. About 4 lbs or so, and not looking to spend outrageous money. Around the 1,000 to 1,500 range is reasonable to me. I want to purchase a male yorkie that will have no genetic defects, or any considerable large problems in the near future. If anyone knows of any decent breeders that have a good reputation and have a litter upcoming, I am willing to wait. Thanks in advance. |

Hello CNJYorkie....I'm from cnj myself...in Lawrenceville. Like you, I have been researching breeders and looking everywhere for a great Yorkie pup from a reputable breeder. I feel so blessed that I have found 2 great breeders...one in the SNJ area and one in DE. The NJ breeder's website is http://www.topknotchpups.com and the DE breeder is http://www.pupepalace.com. My baby girl yorkie was born 2/1....so I am so excited to finally get her! (I decided to go with the breeder in DE). Both breeders are reasonably priced with great reviews. Anyways, I hope this helps you out a bit....who knows, maybe our pups can meet for a playdate, lol. Good luck!!

| JMO - but never liked the idea of people purposely breeding mixed pups -Topknotch does (shows on her website). But that is just how I feel. There are so many unwanted pups - better to adopt a mixed breed from the Humane Society and give them a great home (and in some cases save their life). P.S. My original kennel name in Florida - back in the 80's was Topnotch Yorkies. T. |

I agree....if someone wants a mixed breed dog, they should definitely get one from their local shelter. However, the toy mixed breeds are the new 'fad'. For many, being a breeder is their only job....they have families just like us. And in order to provide for their families, they do have to 'go with the times' and the supply and demand. ....still....I can't imagine paying thousands for a mixed breed, lol.

| Hopes this helps..... If you go onto the topknotchpups.com website, you'll see they're advertising a male yorkie "Luther", 12 weeks old, for $975. http://classifieds.breedersclub.net/.../PupLuther.jpg Also, there's another one..."Kal", 9 weeks old, for $975. http://classifieds.breedersclub.net/...ies/PupKal.jpg Last edited by LaLoca1; 02-04-2006 at 07:03 PM. |

| jmo...I am seeing pet quality not bred to standard on these sites...and pup e palace has only a 7 day guarantee for a replacement pup sometime within a year. Anytime I see paypal/credit cards option it doesn't speak well for motivation in breeding....and can they not be bothered to trim ears? like I said, jmo.
