| Yorkies in Hawaii Currently living in Hawaii and there are two breeders here recognized by YTCA/AKC - I don't know enough people here with Yorkies to get a reliable source of any other breeders that might be trustworthy, but it sure is tough trying to get one - seems like every litter is spoken for before the mama is even bred! So, I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with selling pups to people in Hawaii? I don't know if I'd want him/her shipped - I would want to look into coming to pick up, but there is still the issue of quarantine laws here... I believe if the puppy is not old enough to fulfill quarantine requirements prior to arrival (2 rabies shots, at least 30 days apart, microchipped, and 120 days after the rabies titer is drawn before you can even think about bringing a dog in) they quarantine them for a full 120 days...I cannot do that to a young puppy, so just wondering if anyone knows a way around this or if my best bet is just to have someone keep the puppy til they are older or put myself on a waiting list for a puppy here? |
