Animal Smiley 019 Wanted Female Morkie/St. Louis Area

Anyone know of any pups available? Our family has decided we'd really love to add a new member and have fallen in love with Morkies.

Thank you!

These babies are morkies that came up when I searched Petfinder in Illinois, there are a lot more, and they are so cute! Plus, you wouldn't be buying from an unreputable breeder of mixes. If you want a sweet little mutt, please adopt one!

Please don't support an unreputable breeder by paying a high price for a mixed breed dog. Maltese/yorkie mixes are adorable and make wonderful pets but please consider adopting from a rescue or shelter if you want a mix

My sister no longer breeds them, used too about 4-5 years ago, but, her prices were $400, I wouldn't pay much over that for one..Good luck on your search. We have 8 of them in our family, and they are sweeties...I do know a lady in Minnesota that has some beautiful ones, if you want the info, pm me..

You'll find most animal shelters won't have morkies in them.. and all the yorkies that have been in them get taken right away, so again, good luck on your search

Please, check out www.petfinder.com or even your local newspaper. NO two Morkies or mixed up pups as I prefer to call them will look alike. The puppy you fell in love with may grow up to be much different then what you bought. There is no guarantee of what she will look like as an adult. You will find MANY mixed pups that were sold as "Designer Dogs" on www.petfinder.com Some are confiscated from Puppymills or byb and others are just turned over because they turned out to be NOT what the buyer expected. I have a Morkie and I have MANY ask about her but I can tell you that I have not seen one other look like her. I got my little girl out of the local newspaper when the person that got her decided she wasn't what she wanted. Please resce and DO NOT KEEP THESE BREEDERS IN BUSINESS.

Best of luck on your search. Elaine

Unfortunately, so do yorkies...Believe me, there are a lot of those too, it doesn't matter if it's a "designer" dog or purebred, a lot of them get mistreated..I looked on puppyfind yesterday, actually, there were a lot of purebred yorkies trying to find forever homes..unfortunately, the one I fell in love with(a little over 2 lbs) is no longer up for adoption, as she has LS, and was bred and had a baby that of course she lost...can you believe that, someone breeding a yorkie that barely weighs 2 lbs? I know a lot of you on here cut these breeders down, and although my sister and I don't get along, she used to breed morkies, and you know how many have ended up in a shelter?? #0
they are all perfect/healthy little dogs with wonderful homes..of course, she wouldn't let them go to just anyone, every family that took one of hers, she knew..she wanted to keep up with them..so, not all morkie breeders are byb nor was she a puppy mill..She bred her morkie with a yorkie or a maltese, she has a degree in psychology, and all of her 8 dogs that she has now(not any longer breeding) live in her house!!

I'm an advocate for rescue regardless of whether you are looking for a pure bred or a mix. I'm not suggesting that there are not people breeding mixes that are not caring people, but I am suggesting they are irresponsible in purposely breeding mixes and adding to the already overburdened rescues and Humane Societies. I also agree with you when you say that pure breds are also in rescue, but you will find far less pure bred pups available as compared to the many mixes in rescue. I'm not trying to argue with anyone, I'm just advocating RESCUE over buying. Elaine

I know, it's a shame, but you find mixes and purebreds at the shelters, it's just that everyone that comes to the shelters hurries and takes the purebreds. I hope they pass a law in all the other states as they have in California..where people have to have their pets spayed/neutered..

I found the perfect female Morkie to add to the family but her breeder was asking $1500 for her. I asked why so much for a non-purebred and they told me she was a teacup and if I thought it was too high for a non purebred I can wait for their next litter of yorkies. I was really torn but I just couldn't jusitfy it but someone paid the price because she was sold quickly.

I have been suprised at how much some breeders are asking for their morkies too. We simply fell in love with a picture of one we saw on the internet and decided we would like to have one as our family pet.

I didnt mean to cause any controversy with this thread. I definately agree with trying to keep animals out of shelters. I've been looking on petfinder without any luck.

My DH has basically left the puppy selection up to me. I told him it's more stressful than having a baby. Atleast when you have a baby you get what God sends you, with a puppy you have to choose and I love them all!
