| Needing a jump start on the sport! Does anyone know of an AKC conformation school and a handler of the breed in Northern California? How much does schooling cost and handler's rates? My SweetPea will be 6 months on June 13, and I am very eager to get her started and give her all the opportunities to finish, i.e., if she is worthy. I just love and adore My SweetPea (and will love her always even if she doesn't finish)... and for the happiness and joy that My SweetPea has brought me, I owe it to her and her breeder to try!

| Contact your breed club in your area about classes. You can go to AKC site and check the clubs in your area. Also check with Yorkshire terrier club America - www.ytca.org They can also help. AKC also has a list of registered handlers, but make sure they specialize in yorkies, due to our grooming. I went to one show and knew this one handler did not know completly about our breed, since he placed the yorkie's tail up across its back while in the ring. Classes here cost either 8.00 a class as a drop in or 40 for 6 classes if a member of the local club. I do not know the rate for non-members. Good luck! T. |
