When you post relations in a pedigree, try to show it like a family tree. You know parents, then grandparents, etc.. You have to show who is connected to know. It is hard when you list them. But you are fine - it is what we normally would do. See how I did it? It is hard to do it on a forum or n word to show it like a family tree, so we have to explain who is to whom. And don't worry about AKC numbers and colors. Just list the names. I hope this comes off as polite, since I am trying to make it that way. I mean no harm.

Boy, you can tell I wrote the above at 1:00 AM.
What I meant was that if you tell in word form whom are the parents and grandparents, people can understand it better. List the dogs - no one can tell who are the parent, grandparents, or even the great grandparents. One does not know what generation the dogs are in. That's all. I hope you understand.

Here is one of my babies - Knight. He is just 10 weeks old here. His sire is a Champion and my Felicity (Cici) is the mom. I may put her in the ring after this litter to see how she does. Her coat is to the floor now and she is very elegant looking. Very silky coat. I was not going to show her, but the owner of the stud said that she thought she owuld do very well.

Litter pedigree on Knight - All grandparents and great-grandparents are champions. I know the photo is not so good. I will try to take better photos this weekend with me in a light colored outfit. My dark dress does not help to show his topline off.

You can find free pedigee software downloads on line. Then if you want to ever post it on line...it shows you generationally.

I know what you mean - it is easier in format just to list the dogs. Problem is you can't tell whom his parents, grandparents, greats, or great-greats gr are. But I totally understand. And yes, I can see some similarities in my girl (Chrissy 0f Dot's line) and your male. Here is a list of her relatives she had:
Doubled up on Ch. Dot's Top Banana
Dot's True Sucess
Ch. Dot's Sneak Preview
Dot's Banana Sundae
Ch. Dot's Blue Clico Patches
Ch. Dot's Penny Poo Bear
Ch. Beholda Flyaway Jack
Ch. Clarkwyn Double Eagle
Dot's Blue Melody
Ch. Clarkwyn Jubilee Eagle

Chrissy (nickname Schimoo) is gone now - went to the Rainbow Bridge about 4 years ago. I miss her something fearse. She was my special baby. I had her as my only pet yorkie while my children where growing. I bred her once to Ethel and Michel (Mickey) Feigelson's champion male. It produced one male - Mickey. I still have him today. He is neutered and just my baby. He looks a lot like his mama.

Kyblue - What are the names of the parents of your male? What does he have on his dam's side?

And yes, I will probably show my male's mom (Cici). She must wait in line for the others to finish. I will probably keep Knight, the male I pictured above. He is looking very promising. But must play out the waiting game and see if he does pan out.

Rose - I didn't know you were asking about the Dot line. My first Yorkie's sire is from Dot's. I bought her from Glenda Beavers. One of my Yorkie books has a paragraph or 2 on Dots. I will pull it out and see if there is anything you would be interested in.

What would be great is of we had photos of the dogs with parents and grandparents. This would be a great tool to have to see what produced what and have people learn about lines.

Rose - you can see some photos of Dot's yorkies in "The Book of the Yorkshire Terrier." See pages 311, 152, 227, 235, 236, 262, 298

I love these "old" books. I actually got both of them when I first was showing. But I actually think the older books are the best ones. The first one - has a ton of photos. There just isn't one out there today with as many photos and information about yorkies.

I agree, I love these old books. This is one of my favorites. The Yorkshire Terrier by S Jessop published in 1920. I found it on e-bay. You should try to find it. It is very interesting. It gives a good insight into grooming and showing at that time.

There is a guy that sells antique books at shows. I could spend hours at his booth. I got a great book on Yorkies from him in Fredericksburg. The only problem is he charges an outrageous price if they are frst editions.

Thank you so much. I have another litter coming up in June. The dam is my champion girl and the sire is "Chandler." I am really hoping it all goes well.

I'm sure the pups will be gorgeous. Did you enjoy dealing with Melissa? I haven't met her yet but we show with Kenny all the time.
