| Max needs help in Texas = need transport! The amount of yorkies in need in Texas just continues to add up. It is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen. There is a yorkie who is only a few miles from me who is in need of a foster home. We simply do not have any openings right now and none of the other reputable rescuers I know in this area have room either. We do have openings in NC so I am thinking that perhaps we can find a way to get Max to NC! Please, if you or anyone you know, travels between Houston and Charlotte...or even Atlanta, and would not mind a traveling companion, contact me via PM or send an email to YHR through our website. Edited to add: Max is living outside in the Texas heat. The only picture I have of him is with him in a hole he dug to cool offl.

| I don't care much for ground transports unless every single person is well known to someone. I have seen some real disasters with them. I looked into flying him, but the cost of the ticket plus him is quite high; so I am hoping that maybe perhaps someone might just be traveling that way. I am also going to post a plea on the YHR front page.

| What would be nice is if someone had frequent flyer miles they could donate. When I checked, the cost was going to be probably around $500 for a round trip ticket for one plus his fare. I imagine that playing around with dates will change that, but that is just a ball park figure.

| I'll be glad to help with the ticket, if you cannot find someone that can donate frequent flyer miles. Poor little guy. Is he out of the heat now?

| How sad Linda, I would be more than happy to help with $$ for the plane ticket. Does he have any medical issues??

They said he is heartworm negative, but I don't have proof of that. We desperately need foster homes in Texas. If you think you might be interested, send an email to yorkiehavenrescue@yahoo.com and our membership coordinator will contact you with information. If you think you might want to take a loooong trip haha... let us know!

| Thanks to all of you for your offers of help. I see raising money for the ticket as being a bit difficult. We always have hesitated doing that because it is hard enough to raise money for vet bills for our pups. I am really praying that someone might want to foster him here in Texas OR that someone might be traveling that way. That would be ideal!

| This just breaks my heart to hear about a baby being out in this terrible heat. I might be able to do short term fostering just to get him indoors until other arrangements could be made. I have a 3.5 lb female that has liver problems and an 8 lb neutered male that really doesn't get along great with other males, but only because he is so spoiled! I could also help with transport costs if that works better. I've never fostered, but anything sounds better than where he is. I don't think I'm too far from you...I'd just like to help some way. |

| Well, I know you do amazing work. I feel so helpless and would like to do something when I read stories like this...I know you can't just do it half way -one has to be really committed and we all know that you are! I wish there was something more that I could do, but I will make a donation to your rescue to help this little guy. Please keep us posted on what happens to him. Thank you for all that you do.... |
